Reporting into the General Manager or the General Manager Operations. The Director leads the Service Delivery department with overall financial, operational and compliance accountability.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Overall leadership of Service Delivery department (Transport/Dispatch), including financial and operational performance.
- Accountable for budget.
- Overall accountability for Service Delivery staff, including recruitment, training and development, performance management and attrition.
- Provides leadership and strategic direction to meet and exceed service quality and reduce operating costs transforming Transportation Operations towards operational excellence (gateOPEX).
- Owns of the planning and coordination of routes and schedules, so that catering uplifts and associated products reach their destinations safely, on time and in the most cost-effective way, interacting with the customer where necessary to achieve this.
- Partners/Champions with other Unit Process Owners to ensure conflict resolution and removal of potential system/process road blocks.
- Responsible for employee discipline and corrective actions in compliance with the regulations (Security / Country / Customer / Safety / Food Safety / SQOR /Company Rules and Procedures).
- Participates in PRIDE/SQUAD and takes/oversees the investigations of incidents/accidents within their span/areas of control. Special emphasis on ramp safety and safety improvement opportunities.
Qualifications
Education:
* Degree educated - Logistics, supply chain management, transport management, business management subject areas preferred.
* Holds a Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) / Logistics preferred.
Work Experience:
* Experience of working in a fast-paced environment.
* Experience of managing large teams within Transport logistics. (Union experience is an asset)
* Minimum of 5 years management experience with demonstrable leadership and senior management activities and responsibilities.

Work Environment / Requirements of the Job: Administrative/ Management oversight role. Will be required to operate ramp side, there may be physical discomfort due to temperature in production area, coolers, and freezers.
Other verbiage: Normal standing, walking, reaching, lifting, kneeling, climbing of stairs and ladders, driving, and flying as a passenger on commercial airlines.
Budget / Revenue Responsibility: Responsible for staffing and accountable for hours spent, strict labour budget, strict over time budget, strict indirect labour budget, oversight and manages salaried employees (management budget). Contribution to revenue, ensure we operate safely, while delivery upon customer expectations, in a timely fashion. Failure to do so has financial implications (measured through KPI's and SLA's)
