Position Summary
Process / Manufacturing Engineer develops, monitors production processes and supports new product development (NPD). Drives reductions in lead time and improvements in process cycle time. Provides day-to-day support to manufacturing operations, including troubleshooting assembly issues, conducting special tests, and helping identify root causes
Responsibilities
- Improve productivity by creating, implementing, and validating new work methods and procedures.
- Perform timely, formal Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews for all new products; actively support NPD meetings and develop required manufacturing processes.
- Support manufacturing in establishing production lines and cells for new and existing products using lean manufacturing principles and best practices.
- Maintain documentation of process conditions and changes for PPAP and capacity evaluations; develop standard work for each value stream.
- Monitor key performance metrics, identify improvement opportunities, and follow up to ensure actions are implemented.
- Develop clear, detailed work instructions for new processes and any process changes.
- Complete risk assessments and ensure compliance with applicable safety and quality requirements.
- Partner with Product Engineering to confirm models, drawings, and specifications clearly define manufacturing and quality needs to meet design intent.
- Conduct periodic machine capability studies and drive necessary actions (improve, modify, or replace equipment).
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Minimum 4 to 5 years in the Engineer role of Process Planning and Manufacturing Engineering
- Good knowledge on Kaizen, Automation and tools development
- Good knowledge on PPC tools and Production tools
- Internal audits, IATF16949, SPC, TPM, 5S
Key Competencies
Technical knowledge and completing the activities on time is a must.
Should be Self-starter and should have out of the box ideas.
Preplanning of activities and advance planning is a must.
Effective communication with internal / External customers to align the production engineering activities
