Position Summary
Assistant Station Head is responsible and accountable to support and assist Station Head (SH) to manage, plan and monitor the overall ground operations at the respective station to ensure Malaysia Airlines operates in a safe, secure and in full compliance with all regulatory requirements, company policies, and SOPs. Assistant Station Head is also responsible to assist SH to ensure consistent service delivery in accordance with the company’s set service standards and meet or exceed the company’s KPIs related to On-Time Performance (OTP), Mishandle Baggage (MHB), Document Violation, Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) and financial targets.
Key Accountability
- Assist the SH in overseeing all ground operations, ensuring compliance with safety, security, regulatory requirements, and adherence to airline policies, procedures, and the Ground Operations Manual.
- Responsible to support SH for the airline’s overall ground operations at the airport
- Responsible to support SH to ensure the airline’s ground operations are in full compliance to all safety, security, regulatory requirement and all airline’s policies, procedures and operating manual.
- Undertake an oversight function on all outsourced functions perform by appointed GSP and vendors.
- Responsible to support SH to ensure delivery of all airline’s products and services at all ground customer touchpoints consistently meet and exceed the service quality target set.
- Responsible to support SH for all other aspects of the airport operations such as Documentation, Record Keeping, Training, Manpower, GSP Performance, GSP Contract and SLA, Customer Service, Risk Management, Operations, Disruption, Crisis, Stakeholders Engagement and Communication, Financial, Reporting, and other relevant functions as outlined in the Ground Operations Manual.
- Perform any other duties as required by SH / Regional Head / Management / stipulated in the Ground Operations Manual (GOM) to support the smooth running of airport operations and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Qualification & Working Experience
- Bachelor's degree or above of any field
- Good verbal and written communication skills in written & spoken English and Fluent Mandarin, or Japanese
- Team player with diligent, careful, precise, logical, steady and responsible work attitude;
- Fast learner and able to work well under pressure;
- Airport station working experience is preferred;
- 1-3 year working experience and above.
Area of Experience
- Extensive knowledge of Airport Services functions and key activities including technical and operational related matters.
- Ability to collaborate with teams and stakeholders, make decisions in the absence of leaders, and maintain operational standards, commercial performance, and customer satisfaction.
- Able to monitor performance, address issues, and adapt to future trends to ensure consistent overall performance.
Key Challenges
- Ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality services across all aspects of the station’s operations, maintaining accountability for service standards.
- Manage and control funds, account receivables, payables, and costs within the approved budget, while ensuring compliance with communication, statutory, and legal requirements.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key personnel in government agencies and external parties to maximize business opportunities for the company.
