About the team you are joining
Reporting to the Head Data Science, you will be
an integral part of the Data Science team, collaborating with the Data
Governance and Data Engineering teams to create and deploy machine learning
models and algorithms to address complex business challenges.
You will be responsible for ideating, designing
and implementing cross-divisional data science solutions to use cases that span
across multiple business areas. You will work closely with stakeholders across
IATA to identify opportunities for using data to drive business value and will
be responsible for managing and developing data
science projects from conception to delivery.
What your day would be like
Play a key role in shaping IATA's
data-driven future by using your data science expertise to solve concrete industry
and business challenges, transform how we approach decision-making, project
work and unlock measurable value across IATA and its members.
Design, develop and implement
machine learning solutions that integrate with existing systems and operational
process flows.
Manage a portfolio of Data Science
initiatives within agreed strategic priorities, supporting key business goals
across the organisation.
Act as a force multiplier by
setting technical direction, raising standards, mentoring junior data
scientists, ensuring external vendors deliver high quality work within
established standards, and unblocking complex initiatives.
Lead
communication to various stakeholders, as well as upper management, by
translating analytical concepts into business terms and presenting complex
information clearly.
Contribute to the development and implementation of IATA’s Data
and AI Strategy by participating in key data communities.
We would love to hear from you if
Advanced degree
in data science, mathematics, engineering, physics or related discipline.
5+ years' experience in Data Science or equivalent
work experience in advanced ML, time series or deep learning algorithms for
regression, classification, forecasting or clustering problems.
Hands-on experience developing and
deploying modern AI solutions, including NLP and Generative AI applications,
with practical experience in areas such as embeddings, retrieval-augmented
generation, or agentic workflows.
Proficient quantitative,
statistical, and programming skills. Proven experience taking AI/ML solutions
from prototype to production, including evaluation, scalability, monitoring and
integration with operational systems.
Experience with cloud-based machine learning services such as
AWS SageMaker, Google Cloud Vertex AI and beyond.
Experience mentoring and managing individual
contributors and junior team members.
Experience with agile development methodologies, data or
ML engineering is an advantage.
Aviation industry experience is an advantage.
