Johnson Service Group is currently seeking an Engineering Technician II for a contract position in Vandalia, OH.
Job Title: Engineering Technician II
The Engineering Technician II will take on more complex tasks in the construction, troubleshooting, calibration, and maintenance of electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and optical equipment. This role involves working more independently and assisting in the training of entry-level technicians.
Responsibilities:
o Conduct advanced assembly and construction of electronic, mechanical, and optical systems.
o Perform in-depth troubleshooting and repairs on equipment.
o Calibrate and test devices using sophisticated equipment and techniques.
o Document and analyze test results and maintenance activities.
o Provide training and mentorship to Engineering Technician I personnel.
o Collaborate with engineers to develop solutions for technical challenges.
o Ensure adherence to safety protocols and industry standards.
Qualifications You Must Have:
o Associate's degree in a related field of study.
o 1+ years of experience as a technician or in a related field.
o Relevant experience can be considered as a substitute for the required educational qualifications. In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 3 years of related experience is required.
o Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
o Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings, diagrams, schematics, and manuals.
o Ability to work with standard laboratory test equipment, other measurement equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
o Proficiency in electronic, mechanical, or optical systems troubleshooting.
Qualifications We Prefer:
o Previous experience and/or certifications within the aerospace and defense industry.
o Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
o Experience with AutoCAD or other 3-D CAD software.
o Bachelor's degree in a related technical field.
o Previous supervisory or training experience.
o Advanced understanding of calibration and testing equipment.
Essential Functions:
o Ability to lift up to 30 lbs regularly.
o Ability to be on your feet for much of the work shift.
o Dexterity to handle and assemble small components.
o Occasional exposure to hazardous conditions and loud environments.
o Ability to travel as required.
