THE TEAM
The Group Tax team is a collaborative and high-performing part of easyJet’s wider Finance function, made up of dedicated specialists across all areas of tax. You’ll be joining a team that values partnership, innovation, and continuous improvement as we support the business through transformation and growth.
THE ROLE
As a Tax Assistant – Compliance, Data & Systems, you will play a key role in supporting high-quality tax compliance across the group, with a strong focus on financial systems, data integrity, process optimisation, and controls. This is an exciting opportunity to join a tax function undergoing finance and ERP transformation, where tax is becoming increasingly data-driven, automated, and embedded within business processes.
- Assist with indirect tax compliance, including VAT returns, ticket tax filings, and related reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timely submission
- Gather and prepare data required for filings, working closely with senior team members and external advisors
- Extract, review, and process data from ERP, ticketing, and finance systems, checking for accuracy and flagging issues
- Help document tax processes and support basic control checks, including transaction testing and reconciliations
- Assist in monitoring data quality and identifying areas where processes or controls can be improved
- Support system changes and testing, helping ensure tax requirements are captured during ERP and finance transformation projects
- Help prepare test data, document issues, and support the team during system implementations and upgrades
- Contribute to the automation of processes and development of simple tools, such as Excel-based checks and Microsoft Power suite applications
- Identify opportunities to reduce manual work and improve efficiency in compliance processes
- Work with finance, commercial, and operational teams to respond to tax-related queries and gain an understanding of how business activities and systems impact indirect tax and ticket taxes
What We’re Looking For
- Strong data literacy and attention to detail, with the ability to accurately extract, review, and reconcile data across systems
- Awareness of finance processes and a controls mindset, supporting compliance and identifying potential risks
- Curiosity and drive to improve processes through simplification, standardisation, or automation
- Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders and build an understanding of how business activities impact tax outcomes
- Ability to establish, follow, and improve finance processes and controls
- Understanding of finance systems, data, and automation
- Current experience or knowledge of UK and European indirect taxes is ideal but not essential
- Educated to degree level and committed to obtaining an appropriate professional qualification, such as the Diploma in Tax Technology
- Solid skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Power suite

PRACTICALITIES
This full-time role will be based in Luton, and will be 40 hours per week, with some occasional travel required. We support hybrid working and we spend 60% of our time per month in the office
