The DMS Program Manager-Asset Planning is responsible for planning aircraft retirement parking, disposition and part-out program to ensure maximum benefits are realized. The Program Manager works with the DMS Senior Program Manager to coordinate requests from TOC customers and ensure prompt delivery. The Program Manager, Asset planning will work with TOC counterparts or DMS Product line team to collect and refine data necessary in order to identify and evaluate asset purchase or disposition opportunities that minimize inventory levels and maximize operating cost reduction. Coordinate and interact with Delta business units, DMS business units on the planning requirements for finance, maintenance, engineering, MRO Services and external customers. This position reports to the DMS Vice President-Operation’s and interacts frequently with middle/senior management.
Primary Functions Include But Are Not Limited To
- Plan aircraft retirement and aircraft storage programs including coordination with Fleet Strategy, Demand Planning, OCC, Contracts, DMS site operation, and MRO Providers.
- Review and upload online harvest material requests, then coordinate action with on-site reps.
- Maintain Delta material inventory and usage data to support airframe valuation analyses and ensure expected return on investment.
- Coordinate & Plan the induction of acquired assets into Delta’s/DMS’s operation to achieve expected benefits.
- Improve vendor performance with quarterly business reviews with vendors and Identify opportunities to improve invoice audits, and cost reduction opportunities.
What You Need To Succeed (minimum Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in business/engineering or 10 years related technical discipline is required.
- Thorough understanding of Delta’s policies and procedures, Delta’s maintenance program, reliability goals, Engineering and technical documents.
- Advanced computer/database skills (Excel, Hyperion/Brio, SQL, SAS, SAP etc.)
- Self-starter and team player with the ability to manage multiple priorities from multiple stakeholders.
- Able to work collaboratively with stakeholders to drive program performance and issue resolution.

- Strong business acumen including structured problem solving, analytical skills, data analysis

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (preferred Qualifications)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Aviation Planning
- Familiar with SAP, Hyperion, Tableau and Sceptre
- Familiar with aircraft or engine part-out business
