Basic Qualifications
- Candidate must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance
- Prior Mechanical Quality inspection experience
- CMM experience or CNC machining experience
- Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Engineering/blueprint drawing reading/interpretation.
- Experience utilizing precision measurement tools
Job Description
You will be the Mechanical and Tool Inspector for the Missiles and Fire Control team. Our team is responsible for producing some of the world's most advanced weapon and sensor technology through ultra-precision machining, additive manufacturing, and the development of complex optical components and sophisticated electronic systems.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Mechanical and Tool Inspector, you will be responsible for performing in-process / courtesy / quality witness / final inspections on machined parts, electro-mechanical, mechanical, composite, integrated systems and various coatings including chemical conversion coating, military grade primer / paint, powder coat and anodize.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Performing in-process / courtesy / quality witness / final inspections on machined parts, electro-mechanical, mechanical, composite, integrated systems and various coatings.
- Inspecting mechanical assemblies utilizing Coordinate Measurement Machines (CMMs) for structural flaws and checking critical dimensions to extremely close tolerances.
- Ascertain functionality in accordance with prescribed company and customer requirements and specifications which may be presented to the customer for certification and acceptance prior to shipment.
- Utilizing a variety of precision inspection instruments and gages to perform inspections per drawing criteria, including critical dimensions to extremely tight tolerances.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a Secret clearance.
Must have the ability to work different shifts (1st shift / 2nd shift/ 3x12 shift Fri-Sun) at times based on seniority prioritization in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement between Lockheed Martin and the UAW.
Must have the ability to work overtime including weekends depending on Business Unit needs.
