Lockheed Martin Space is seeking an
Engineering Aide Sr. to join the Production Operations (Prod Ops) team in
Courtland, AL where we produce the next generation missiles, harnesses and chassis for Targets, Hypersonic and Mars vehicles. In this role, you will support the Thermal Protection System application, electro/mech structure assembly, integration and test (AI&T) operations.
Work Schedule: 4x10 (Mon-Thurs)
Shift: 1st Shift (6:00AM - 4:30PM)
This position could require some travel and support to other manufacturing operations.
Summary Of Key Duties For This Position
- You will interpret engineer drawings and create work instructions for technicians to support product build.
- Support shop floor technicians in fast passed and dynamic processing environment.
- Resolve work stoppages through equipment support, continuous improvement initiatives, defect disposition, and root cause analysis.
- Create and manage relationships with a multi-disciplined team.
- Conceptualize assembly using strong mechanical aptitudes, understanding of material properties, heat transfer, and structural properties.
- Lead the technical team daily to meet engineering requirements, schedule and cost commitments, and provide production status to leadership.
Desired Skills
- Understanding of aerospace and/or missile vehicles (structures, systems, materials, troubleshooting & maintenance).
- Experience with missile assembly processes: primarily fastener installation, epoxy bonding, ordnance handling, electrical connector mates, and coating applications.
- Familiarity with SAP/VE-CAMS (Qnotes, Routings, Bills of material).
- Technical Associates degree or equivalent manufacturing experience
- Familiarity with defect trending or Statistical Process Control.
- Hands on experience with torque, epoxy bonding, and other missile assembly processes.
- Basic experience in New Process development and experience validating processes for flight applications.
- Understanding of Root Cause Analysis.
- Experience with CPS final integration and TPS processes.
- Familiarity of Aerospace industry standards for quality requirements including AS9100D.
- Strong interpersonal skills both written and verbal.
