Overview
This role is designed as a growth pathway, providing exposure across FP&A, treasury, financial operations, and business partnering, with the aim of developing into a future finance leadership role. The individual will support financial planning, cash flow management, reporting, and operational finance activities, while also acting as a reliable support within the finance team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. FP&A, Financial Reporting & Business Support
- Support the Finance Controller in financial planning, budgeting and forecasting.
- Prepare monthly financial reports and management reports.
- Assist in the month-end closing process, including review of financial data and reporting accuracy.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business growth and operational efficiency.
- Support cross-functional business partnering initiatives to align finance objectives with business priorities.
2. Treasury & Cash Flow Management
- Assist in monitoring the organization’s cash flow position and short-term liquidity requirements.
- Support treasury activities including cash flow forecasting, fund transfers, banking matters, and payment planning.
- Assist in monitoring working capital and ensuring sufficient funding for operational requirements.
- Support financing-related activities, including tracking of credit facilities, loans, or treasury documentation where applicable.
- Identify and highlight financial and operational risks related to cash flow and treasury activities.
3. Operational Finance & Controls
- Ensure internal control processes are implemented and executed in accordance with Group policies and governance standards.
- Support internal and external audit requirements, including preparation of schedules and supporting documentation.
- Act as a backup support for operational finance and GL-related activities during peak periods or resource constraints.
4. Process Improvement & Collaboration
- Contribute to the enhancement and implementation of finance processes, reporting efficiency, and operational controls.
- Support automation and continuous improvement initiatives across finance and treasury functions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to improve financial visibility and operational alignment.
- Support documentation, SOP development, and knowledge transfer initiatives to strengthen team resilience and continuity.
- Take ownership of assigned projects and progressively expand responsibilities in line with capability and readiness.
5. Ad-hoc assignments from reporting manager
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or related field
- Professional Accounting qualification (ICAEW, ACCA, CPA Australia/NZ)
- Minimum of 5-8 years related work experience in accounting/auditing
- Good interpersonal skills
- Able to multitask and work under pressure in a dynamic working environment
- Strong stakeholder management, influencing, and communication skills
