As a Senior Manager, Payroll, you will lead a critical payroll operations function that helps ensure employees are paid accurately, on time, and in compliance with established policies and requirements. This role is an opportunity to lead teams, strengthen operational performance, improve processes, and help deliver a reliable employee experience across the business. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a high-speed internet connection and safe working environment in the event this role is required to be performed remotely.
What You’ll Do
- Lead, coach, and develop leaders and team members responsible for payroll processing operations
- Oversee end-to-end payroll processing to ensure accuracy, timeliness, compliance, and effective internal controls
- Set priorities, performance expectations, and service standards across the payroll processing function
- Monitor workflow, productivity, quality, and turnaround times to support reliable execution and service excellence
- Review escalated or complex payroll issues and guide effective resolution
- Partner with HR, Benefits, Finance, Technology, and other stakeholders to improve processes and strengthen service delivery
- Ensure payroll operations are executed in alignment with company policy, audit standards, and applicable regulatory requirements
- Identify operational risks, recurring issues, and process gaps, and lead improvement efforts to strengthen efficiency and consistency
- Use data, reporting, and metrics to assess performance, identify trends, and communicate insights to leadership
- Support audits, compliance reviews, and operational reporting needs with accurate documentation and strong process knowledge
- Lead implementation of process enhancements, standard operating procedures, and team training
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and care

What You Need To Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)
- Must possess authorization to work and live in Jamaica at the time of application. Delta does not sponsor.
- 7+ years of experience in payroll, payroll operations, shared services, or a related function
- 3+ years of experience leading teams, managers, or complex operational workflows
- Must be able to travel to and from the United States and other countries as required for training and business meetings
- Strong knowledge of payroll operations, controls, compliance, and issue resolution
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment
- Ability to handle sensitive matters with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment
- Experience using payroll systems, reporting tools, and spreadsheets to manage operations and performance
- Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
- Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
- Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- Experience supporting multiple employee populations or specialized payroll workstreams
- Experience with expatriate payroll, disability payroll processing, global mobility payments, garnishments, and payroll tax activities
- Experience supporting payroll reconciliations, audits, or year-end processing
- Knowledge of payroll compliance requirements and internal control practices
- Experience working with payroll systems, reporting tools, and data management processes
