As a Delta Air Lines Aircraft Load Agent, you will act as a lead agent responsible for ensuring the safe and proper loading/offloading of baggage and cargo. The Load Agents are accountable for ensuring the correct weight and balance recording, on-time departures, safety, security, and customer service delivery.
As an Aircraft Load Agent, you will perform a variety of the duties below according to your functional work area assignment; however, in certain stations and under certain circumstances, employees may be required to perform all functions.
This position is awarded to the most qualified individual, as determined through a selection process, and is not awarded based on seniority.
Summary Of Responsibilities (not Comprehensive Of All Tasks)
- Functions as a multitasked worker who is an effective team motivator.
- Forms a solid game plan for IROP recovery and makes quick, sound decisions.
- Demonstrates a keen ability to solve problems and possesses the dedication to provide excellent customer service.
- Lifts, loads, unloads and transports baggage, mail, and cargo to and from aircraft.
- Operates ground support equipment (tugs, conveyor belts, and tow tractors).
- Efficiently coordinates with internal resources while working under time constraints to dispatch flights safely, securely, and on time.
- Outdoor work in varying climate conditions is required.
- Practices safety-conscious behaviors in all operations processes and procedures.

What You Need To Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)
- Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.

- Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
- Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must be proficient in English.
- Possess basic computer skills.
- Should project a professional image.
- Must successfully complete relevant training classes.
- Have strong verbal communication skills.
- Should have excellent oral and verbal communication skills and be able to comprehend detailed job instructions.
- Ability to frequently lift bags or items weighing up to and including 50 pounds.
- Ability to occasionally lift bags or items weighing between 50 and 70 pounds.
- Must be able to drive and safely operate cargo loader and baggage tug, as well as tow tractor when required to dispatch aircraft.
- Should be able to work under pressure and time constraints necessary to dispatch flights on time.
- Be willing to work a fixed and/or rotating schedule including afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays in all weather conditions.

- Be authorized to work in the US.
- Must wear required company-approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to include, but not limited to: hearing protection, safety-toe footwear, protective headwear (bump cap or hard hat), and high visibility safety apparel subject to an approved accommodation, such as alternate PPE.
- Ability to hold airport specific requirements such as a SIDA Badge and Customs Seal.
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- Previous ramp operations experience is preferred.
- Typing/computer skills are strongly preferred.
