Senior Officer, Import Release
Reports To
Assistant Manager, Cargo Warehouse Handling
Position Summary
- Overall monitoring of the Import Release operations, the delivery operational matters. To ensure the service qualities conform to the SLA and company objective accordance to all regulations.
- Adhere to all IMS requirement and any other relevant policies and procedures set by the company.
- Ensure comply to safety and security requirements.
Key Accountability
- To ensure all inbound and transit cargo are breakdown and properly handled in accordance to company standard operating procedures, achieve service standard and requirements.
- To ensure all inbound cargo are release to customer within the service standard.
- Supervising cargo handling operations for small teams of MH and vendor staff.
- Responsible for activities, performance and safety of the team in the warehouse.
- Ad-hoc plans and execution of activities e.g. loading / unloading of trucks or containers, breakdown / buildup of pallets, moving / transporting cargo.
- Report to and coordinates actions with active Duty Manager.
- Work in 3 x 8hour shift patterns, requiring 4 teams.
- Manage overall day to day operations.
- Plan resources manpower and equipment.
- Ensure maximize utilization of resources.
- Prepare staff movement on staff leave.
- Maintain staff discipline.
- Ensure process compliance to SOP and other requirements.
- Conduct investigation on discrepancy and corrective action.
- Provide report as per required by management.
- Attend operations meeting as and when required.
- Monitor vendor performance and activity.
- Ensure established SLA of delivery are met.
- Liaise with MAB Kargo Operations Control Centre (OPCC) on all operational matter and performance.
- Attend to customer / agent enquiry in email, phone, social media or face to face.
- Provide on job training to staff.
- Ensure supervise, monitor and report on safety and security related issues.
- Monitor and action on group email and lying list in system.
- Prepare daily performance report.
- Attend to special cargo delivery.
- Perform duty and other tasks assign by Superior and Management.
- Ensure cleanliness of work area.
- Monitor serviceability of the equipment.
- Submit daily / weekly report on cargo statistics.
- To comply with safety and security at all times..
Qualifications & Working Experience
- Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or
- Higher tertiary qualification / Diploma / Degree
- At least eight (08) years’ experience in cargo operation.
Area of Experience
- Knowledge in Handling of Cargo
- Knowledge in CMS-LMS System / WMS-CWIS System
Personality Traits
- Pleasant with good interpersonal and communication skills
- Fluent and proficient in Bahasa Malaysia and English
- Highly self-motivated person
- Flexible, resilience and work under pressure
- Computer literate and good in MS Office
