We are looking for a multifaceted, business-minded Commercial Counsel to support the growth of Vista’s commercial business across its multiple brands – including VistaJet and XO – in North America and beyond.This is an exciting opportunity to join the international legal team of a high-growth company recently named one of the world’s most valuable Unicorns.
Your Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and edit commercial legal agreements across companies and brands (including charter and flight service contracts, loyalty and referral programs, marketing and publicity agreements, website and app T&Cs, licenses, leases, vendor contracts, SLAs, MSAs, NDAs, etc.)
- Negotiate agreements directly with third parties, including C-Suite executives and their counsel.
- Develop a solid understanding of the company’s product and commercial goals.
- Provide pragmatic, deal-minded support and advice to a global sales team.
- Lead cross-departmental projects from scoping to implementation.
- Assist with the global litigation portfolio (investigations, subpoenas, letters before action, cease & desists, e-discovery, mediations, settlement and releases, etc.)
- Use and maintain the company’s document, template, and contract repositories.
- Monitor legal developments, conduct legal research, and advise stakeholders.
- Support a wide range of projects on an as needed basis, from HR to Tax.
Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role or with relevant law firm experience.
- Commercially minded dealmaker with a lawyer’s attention to detail, able to demonstrable contract drafting experience.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; able to translate legal matters to non-legal audience.
- Self-starter; able to work autonomously from time-to-time
- Able to monitor emails on designated evenings / weekends (g., end of month)
- Willingness to learn and embrace new challenges / new areas of law.
- Bar admission in good standing and able to serve as in-house counsel.
This is a remote position, limited to candidates who are based in Central Time Zone or Eastern Time Zone states, strictly excluding NY, NJ, IL, MA, CT, and RI.
