The Corporate Tax department is responsible for all corporate income and indirect (transactional) tax matters within DHL. Global responsibilities are addressed by International Taxes and Indirect Taxes, whereas regional responsibilities are organized by area, led by Regional Heads. We are looking for an immediate, full-time, permanent position in AMERCIAS at Westerville, Ohio.
Job Purpose:
This position will be involved in all aspects of the U.S. income tax compliance and provision processes for the DHL Group entities. The Senior Tax Analyst will report directly to the Tax Manager and work closely with other analysts within the department to ensure deadlines are met and goals are achieved.
Your tasks:
- Lead the compliance process which includes the preparation and review of federal, international (including 5472, 5471, 1120-F and 8858), US territorial, state and municipal corporate income and franchise tax returns.
- Assist with the preparation and review of the quarterly income tax provision work papers including maintenance of effective tax rate schedules, flux analysis in deferred balances and reserve schedules.
- Preparation and review of monthly tax account reconciliations.
- Preparation and review of extensions and quarterly estimated tax calculations.
- Resolve discrepancies and adjustments with tax authorities
- Assist with developing staff members on tax technical items as well as business soft skills
- Work closely with the audit and planning team to assist in their information gathering as well as to ensure audit findings are properly incorporated in future compliance filings.
- Work closely with internal and external consultants
- Research complex tax issues and prepare adhoc reporting for Management
- Identify and implement process improvements
- Assist with tax department process and procedure documentation.
Your profile:- Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- 3 - 10 years of tax experience
- CPA and/or Master’s Degree in Taxation is desired
- Tax experience with a large national CPA firm or within a large business tax department with practical hands-on experience
- Supply Chain, Aviation and Logistics experience a plus
Skills- Strong knowledge of U.S. federal and state income tax laws and concepts
- Solid understanding of the income tax accounting (ASC740 & IAS12)
- Solid understanding of US GAAP and IFRS accounting standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office especially Excel and Word
- Experience with Corptax Compliance and Corptax Provision
- Experience with Alteryx and KNIME
- Familiarity Oracle and SAP a plus
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task and adhere to tight deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
- Must be a collaborative team player
