About the Opportunity
Jacobs has a vacancy for an energetic and enthusiastic senior sales professional to join our global Digital and Data Solutions (D&DS) team to lead sales in Europe (with a UK focus). Digital and Data Solutions has a clear purpose to identify and address the new markets and opportunities associated with Jacobs’ digital and data technology strategy. Extreme collaboration with our digital products and consulting teams, as well as external partners like PA Consulting and Palantir, will be critical to ensure that we maximize our growth potential in strategic areas in concert with our BU partners in B&I Europe and Energy and Power and Advanced Facilities. D&DS spans all infrastructure sectors, operating as a dynamic and entrepreneurial team that leverages support from across the global Jacobs enterprise.
Role Outline/ Responsibilities
Working with external and internal partners, this is an end-to-end sales operations role that spans from early client engagement and identification of opportunities through to contract execution. Duties include, but are not limited to:
* Grow our sales pipeline to successfully deliver revenue and margin growth.
* Maintain the pipeline and project managing sales activities in accordance with Jacobs sales process.
* Act in partnership with senior management to establish goals, develop strategies and to leverage a global network to grow and move the company in new directions
* Hone sales messages and win themes to simplify complex topics in technical proposals
* Hosting and chairing regular sales calls with internal and external partners
* Think globally to provide the vision and leadership to create Sales Operations capabilities and organizational structure needed for future success of D&DS
* Broad spectrum of client engagement, in line with strategy, to identify and win opportunities
* Coordination with Jacobs marketing teams to expand client outreach and position in market
* Leading individual pursuits and focusing on the outcome
* Facilitate cross LPB and market collaboration to exploit synergies (people, business and strategic initiatives across geographies and multiple business units
* In partnership with the Sales & Growth VP for D&DS, share financial responsibility for delivery of GM and management of BP/G&A performance.
* Capable of generating sales collateral from scratch to support pursuit or marketing efforts
* Engagement and coordination of creative services, contracts, legal and proposal resources
* Developing commercial models and leading contract negotiations.
* Working in an "agile" way and not be constrained by job description, always striving to do the right thing in pursuit of opportunities
* Drive long-term sales productivity improvement consistent with market characteristics
* Building effective working relationships with external partners and internally across global Jacobs to support delivery of strategy D&DS is effectively a start-up which is leaning on internal skills and external partnerships to drive growth in new business areas. Energy, enthusiasm, and a deep curiosity for new ways of working are fundamental requirements, as is a willingness to learn about new industries and develop new skills.
Specific requirements include:
* Project management and sales experience, deep understanding of the project delivery lifecycle
* Knowledge of markets, clients, emerging business and industry trends to actively integrate into business initiatives and understanding of Digital Technology, encompassing themes such as cloud, AI, and cyber security.
* A passion and innate ability to influence and impact the decision-making process
* Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and uncertainty when striving for sales outcomes
* Relentlessly collaborative and able to build teams to meet individual opportunity needs
* Confident in front of clients, particularly when operating outside of comfort zone
* Excellent business acumen coupled with effective communication skills and a strategic mindset with a drive towards innovative solutions at all levels of the organization.
* Willingness to travel, principally across the UK but may require some European and wider international travel.
