How You'll Help Us Keep Climbing (Overview & Key Responsibilities)
At Delta, we connect people and cultures, power extraordinary experiences, and shape the future of travel. Here, you'll work on complex challenges on a global scale, using augmented intelligence to build emerging technologies, amplify human potential and continuously grow the skills that keep you at the forefront of what's next.
The Salesforce Center of Excellence ensures Salesforce solutions across the enterprise are secure, scalable, maintainable, and aligned with Delta's technology strategy. We are seeking a technologist who happens to be an expert in Salesforce, not a Salesforce expert whose experience ends at the platform boundary.
As a Senior Process Architect, you will serve as a technical leader for Delta's Salesforce ecosystem. You will design enterprise-scale solutions, establish engineering standards, mentor technical teams, and govern architectural decisions across critical platforms. This role combines architecture leadership with hands-on development, requiring both strategic thinking and technical depth.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Governance
- Design and govern scalable, secure, and maintainable Salesforce solutions aligned with Delta's enterprise technology strategy.
- Serve as the technical authority and final approver for significant Salesforce architecture and integration decisions.
- Partner with fellow Process Architects and the Salesforce Certified Technical Architect (CTA) to define and evolve enterprise standards, reference architectures, and engineering best practices.
- Evaluate technical tradeoffs and guide teams toward solutions that meet business needs without creating unnecessary complexity or technical debt.
- Drive a platform-first architecture approach that leverages native Salesforce capabilities while meeting Delta’s enterprise standards for security, scalability, and reliability.
Engineering & Integration
- Design and review integrations using APIs, event-driven architectures, middleware, and cloud-native integration patterns.
- Contribute hands-on development in Apex, Lightning Web Components, and related technologies to maintain technical depth and engineering credibility.
- Reduce technical debt, performance bottlenecks, and architectural risk across the Salesforce ecosystem.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and champion the practical use of AI to improve software delivery, developer productivity, and solution quality.
Technical Leadership
- Mentor developers, administrators, architects, and technical leads while raising the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of engineering across Delta's Salesforce ecosystem
- Lead architecture reviews, design workshops, and code reviews while influencing technical direction through expertise, collaboration, and data-driven decision making.
- Support critical production incidents, lead root cause analysis, and drive improvements that strengthen platform reliability, operational resilience, and business outcomes.
- Act with urgency, ownership, and accountability in support of Delta's operational objectives.
What You Need To Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)
- 8+ years of software engineering, solution architecture, or enterprise platform experience, including 7+ years designing and delivering Salesforce solutions in complex enterprise environments.
- Deep understanding of software architecture principles, object-oriented design, distributed systems, integration patterns, and modern software engineering practices.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues spanning multiple applications and integrated systems while balancing delivery goals and maintaining long-term architectural quality.
- Experience serving as a technical governance authority for complex solutions, including architectural approval responsibilities and influencing technical direction across multiple teams without managerial authority.
- Strong understanding of source control, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and modern release management practices using tools such as GitLab and Copado.
- Hands-on experience developing solutions with Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flows, Agentforce, Service Cloud, and Salesforce security models.
- Expert knowledge of Salesforce architecture, platform capabilities, limitations, and best practices. (Agentforce, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, CRM Analytics, Experience Cloud)
- Demonstrated ability to simplify complex systems and drive adoption of shared standards across multiple teams and business domains.
- Experience applying AI technologies to improve software delivery, engineering productivity, or business outcomes.
- Strong experience designing and supporting enterprise integrations using REST APIs, event-driven architectures, messaging platforms, middleware solutions, and ETL technologies.
- Experience with cloud-native architectures and services in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
- Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
- Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- Salesforce Application Architect, System Architect, or Certified Technical Architect (CTA) certification.
- Experience with enterprise integration and event-streaming platforms such as MuleSoft, Kafka, Azure Integration Services, or similar technologies.
- Experience establishing engineering standards and governance practices for large development organizations.
