Help resolve deferred maintenance safely and on time.
Deferred maintenance requires more than tracking an open item. It takes careful coordination across technical requirements, materials, people, facilities and schedules to make sure repairs happen safely and within required timelines.
As a
Deferred Maintenance Coordinator at Frontier Airlines, you’ll coordinate the resolution of Minimum Equipment List (MEL), Configuration Deviation List (CDL), Non-Essential Equipment and Furnishings (NEF) and Other Deferred Maintenance (ODM) items.
Working within applicable regulatory requirements and Frontier procedures, you’ll help plan repairs at the earliest practicable opportunity while ensuring the parts, personnel, facilities, technical procedures and schedules are in place to restore aircraft to type design.

This position supports the Manager, Maintenance Demand Planning & Analysis and is an individual contributor role with no direct reports.
What You’ll Own
- Plan and prioritize deferred maintenance
- Monitor MEL, CDL, NEF and related manual requirements, including placards, maintenance procedures, crew operating procedures and other limitations, to help maintain airworthiness and an acceptable level of safety (ALoS).
- Take operational ownership of the MEL maintenance capture program.
- Identify and prioritize MEL/CDL/NEF and ODM capture in alignment with Frontier standards and guidelines.
- Continuously evaluate and modify planned maintenance events performed by Frontier maintenance teams and approved maintenance providers.
- Manage MEL/CDL/NEF and ODM escalation processes in accordance with company guidance and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations.
- Help ensure deferred maintenance repairs are planned at the earliest practicable opportunity and within prescribed deferral limits, company goals and special requirements.
Make sure the right resources are in place
- Verify the suitability and completeness of material requisitions and transfer orders created when MEL/CDL, NEF and ODM deferrals are applied, including required parts, expendables, consumables and special tools.
- Identify and request the appropriate Technical Services Work Scope (TSWS), working with Technical Services, Engineering and other teams as needed.
- Ensure Technical Services work scopes are scheduled within applicable time constraints.
- Coordinate Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA), materials and tooling with Frontier Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) partners to support MEL/CDL/NEF and ODM program efficiency and currency.
- Coordinate across functional teams when issues or blockers affect successful deferred maintenance resolution.
Protect compliance and airworthiness
- Verify that MEL/CDL/NEF and ODM program changes meet regulatory requirements and Frontier standards and policies.
- Ensure applicable changes interface appropriately with Maintenance and Operations functions, Aircraft Flight Manual limitations, emergency procedures and Airworthiness Directives.
- Support compliance with FAA Master Minimum Equipment List requirements, Operations Specifications, ICAO requirements and applicable internal manuals.
- Maintain required FAA Airman A&P certification and Frontier training qualifications.
- Maintain familiarity with training requirements defined in GMM 100: Maintenance Training Program and ensure required training is current before performing assigned responsibilities.
Monitor performance and drive resolution
- Provide daily company and FAA reporting related to MEL/CDL/NEF and ODM work capture plans and results.
- Provide weekly reporting on ODM capture plans across 30-, 60- and 90-day horizons.
- Provide technical, operational and policy support to the Frontier Airlines MEL Steering Committee.
- Assist with quarterly and ad hoc MEL Steering Committee meetings.
- Participate in meetings with the FAA regarding MEL/CDL/NEF and ODM program revisions, temporary revisions and other FAA matters.
- Coordinate timely corrective actions for deficiencies identified through FAA or internal investigations.
Required Qualifications
What you’ll need to succeed
- Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license.
- Three (3) years of airline or Transport Category aircraft experience.
- Three (3) years of experience working with the MEL Manual for aircraft operations.
- Three (3) years of aircraft maintenance experience in a Line Maintenance environment.
- Dependability demonstrated through regular attendance, punctuality, timeliness and accurate completion of assigned work.
- Ability to work across functional teams and use established escalation processes when issues or blockers affect operational success.
Preferred Experience
- A320-series Line Maintenance experience.
- Experience using Maintenance Information Systems such as TRAX, AMOS or similar platforms.
- Experience using Flight Operating Systems such as Sabre, CAE or similar platforms.
- Technical skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat.
- Proficiency with Power BI.
- Ability to maintain applicable FAA Airman A&P and Frontier training certifications and qualifications.
