As a leader within Flight Operations, you will play a critical role in shaping and delivering the technology experiences that support our pilots every day. This position leads the strategy, delivery, and continuous evolution of Delta's Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) ecosystem, a portfolio of mission-critical pilot applications and tools that directly impact operational performance, safety, compliance, and the pilot experience.
The ideal candidate combines strong product leadership, technical acumen, operational awareness, and people leadership capabilities to drive meaningful outcomes across a complex stakeholder landscape. This role partners closely with Flight Operations leadership, technical pilots, frontline pilots, IT teams, and external technology vendors to define and execute a long-term vision for pilot-facing digital products.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead product teams responsible for the strategy, development, deployment, support, and continuous improvement of mission-critical pilot-facing Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) applications, mobile platforms, and supporting technologies.
- Establish and execute product vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmaps that align business objectives, operational requirements, technology investments, and user needs.
- Partner with Flight Operations leadership, Delta IT teams, frontline pilots, and cross-divisional stakeholders to identify opportunities, gather feedback, prioritize enhancements, and deliver impactful technology solutions.
- Own prioritization decisions across the EFB portfolio, balancing operational risk, regulatory requirements, technical debt, innovation opportunities, customer experience, and business value.
- Drive product planning activities including quarterly increment planning, annual investment planning, roadmap development, release planning, and execution governance.
- Develop business cases, recommendations, and investment strategies that influence executive-level decisions regarding product priorities, technology modernization efforts, and resource allocation.
- Manage relationships with key technology vendors and partners, including contract negotiations, service-level management, performance reviews, product evaluations, and governance processes.
- Ensure operational readiness and reliability of pilot technology platforms, including business continuity planning, incident response coordination, risk management, and support model effectiveness.
- Monitor product performance and health through operational metrics, customer feedback, adoption trends, reliability measures, and business outcomes, using data to drive continuous improvement decisions.
- Champion user-centered design principles by incorporating pilot feedback and operational insights into product strategy and delivery decisions.
- Collaborate with architecture, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and engineering teams to ensure solutions meet enterprise standards for security, performance, scalability, and compliance.
- Communicate product strategy, roadmap progress, risks, and key decisions to leaders at all levels of the organization, building alignment and stakeholder confidence.
- Lead, develop, and coach a high-performing team of product managers, analysts, and technology professionals, fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Establish team objectives, performance expectations, and talent development plans while supporting employee engagement, career growth, and succession planning.
What You Need To Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)
- Possess a bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Aviation, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in product management, technology leadership, program management, software delivery, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex technology products, platforms, or portfolios with multiple stakeholders, dependencies, and competing priorities.
- Proven ability to develop and execute product strategies and roadmaps that deliver measurable business and operational outcomes.
- Experience influencing decisions and communicating effectively with senior leadership, executives, technical teams, and business partners.
- Strong understanding of Agile delivery methodologies, product lifecycle management, and modern software development practices.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization and driving alignment among diverse stakeholder groups.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions in complex operational environments.
- Experience managing third-party vendors, strategic partnerships, contracts, and service-level agreements.
- Ability to balance strategic planning with execution and operational excellence.
- Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
- Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- Experience supporting airline operations, Flight Operations, crew technology, aviation technology platforms, or Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) solutions.
- Experience delivering mobile applications and enterprise platforms used in safety-critical or highly regulated environments.
- Knowledge of airline operational processes, pilot workflows, regulatory compliance requirements, and operational decision-making practices.
- Experience managing large-scale technology transformations, modernization programs, or digital product portfolios.
- Familiarity with Apple iOS ecosystem management, mobile device management (MDM), and enterprise mobility solutions.
- Experience working within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or similar enterprise delivery model.
- MBA, master's degree, or advanced professional certifications in Product Management, Agile, Project Management, or Aviation.
- Proven ability to influence executive stakeholders and drive enterprise-wide technology adoption.
- Demonstrated ability to incorporate AI-driven capabilities, automation, and intelligent assistance tools into digital products to improve end-user effectiveness, adoption, and satisfaction.
