Your Responsibility
As Ground Safety Expert you`ll own risk management and assurance processes across ground safety, including dangerous goods. You will investigate occurrences, support Safety Risk Evaluations, maintain our Ground Operations hazards register and work closely with Ground Operations, Austro Control and DHL group airlines to keep our ground and cargo operations safe. Reporting to the Senior Supervisor Safety, you will play a visible, hands-on role in a Just Culture safety environment where your analysis and recommendations directly inform how we manage risks.
Your Tasks
- Coordinate, investigate and manage ground safety investigations and occurrence reports, assessing risk, identifying root causes and recommending corrective and preventative actions.
- Prepare, coordinate and facilitate the Ground Safety Action Group and contribute to the Safety Review Board.
- Maintain and develop the Ground Operations hazard register in close partnership with Ground Operations.
- Support risk assessments of occurrence reports and contribute to Safety Risk Evaluations on ground safety topics.
- Own the administration and control of ground safety related reports, SPIs and statistics - spotting trends and following them up with the right people.
- Represent DHA on ground safety matters with external stakeholders such as Austro Control and DHL group airlines.
- Be accountable for the quality, integrity and regulatory compliance of the risk data and recommendations you produce, in line with IOSA ISARPs and DHA standards.
Your Qualifications
- An undergraduate degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- 5 years of relevant work experience, including at least 2 years in the aeronautical industry.
- A dangerous goods training certificate - CAT 10 or similar competency-based DG training preferred.
- Solid experience with risk management and assurance processes in aviation and familiarity with management systems.
- Working knowledge of EU aviation safety regulations, AOC operations specifications and operations manual requirements.
- A sound grasp of statistical principles and confidence working with data and trends.
- Fluent in English, strong MS Office skills and the interpersonal skills to build effective relationships across the business.
- The ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and stay composed under pressure.

- For this roles, we offer a competitive minimum gross salary of € 4,623 based on full-time employment with the possibility of an adjusted salary depending on your experience and qualification.

- This position is initially offered on a two-year fixed-term contract, with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent position thereafter.
