Role Introduction
This role is part of a professional team in our Flight Operations Department (FOP), which consists of flight crew and ground staff teams, both working to ensure the highest standards of operational efficiency and service. Safety is intrinsic to everything we do.
You are responsible for performing flight planning and dispatch duties in accordance with Company procedures, ensuring the safe and cost-effective operation of flights.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure flight planning and crew briefing duties are delivered in an effective and efficient manner
- Provide general flight watch coverage to minimize flight disruptions caused by Air Traffic Control (ATC) restrictions, weather, and NOTAM related advisories by evaluating, recommending, and implementing alternative flight planning and Dispatch solutions
- Monitor, in particular, EDTO operations to ensure flights operate within legal requirements and payload is optimized through cost-effective route planning
- Work closely with IOC, Engineering, Airports, Cargo, and Flight Operations Management to implement cost effective solutions to day-of-operation problems and contribute to the IOC decision making process
- Liaise closely with ATC and Meteorological centers around the network for flight plan filing and weather updates for routine and ad hoc situations
- Handle Flight Crew queries and feedback in a positive, timely and helpful manner. Ensure feedback is channelled through management and corrective action where required implemented
- Mentor, and motivate, and Briefing Officers in the conduct of their duties to ensure a cohesive and positive work environment
- Keep abreast of knowledge and latest developments in the areas of flight planning and Dispatch methodology, the regulatory environment, and technology
- Perform on job trainer duty; develop a professional and positive attitude towards work and encourage the same from staff through personal action
- Support the management of AI agents or equivalent productivity tools
Requirements
- Full Flight Dispatch training included EDTO Flight Operations
- Good knowledge of Flight Planning system operation
- Good knowledge of airline and flight operations
- Knowledge of using technology to improve work efficiency is preferred
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office programmes (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power Automate, SharePoint, Copilot)
- Strong leadership and analytical skills
- Good time management skill, organized methodical and systematic approach to problem solving
- Excellent command of English (Written and spoken)
- At least 2 years of working experience in Flight Dispatch and Airport Operation.
