A unique opportunity has arisen for a Requirements Engineering Lead to join our Novel Nuclear & Special Projects Team. We are looking to recruit a Senior/Principal Systems Requirements Engineer to lead the development and delivery of a Requirements Engineering and Management capability strategy across Novel Nuclear projects for the nuclear industry and space domain applications. This role will allow you to fully utilise your Systems Verification and Systems Engineering capabilities to support us in achieving our challenging objectives.

The Systems Requirements Engineering Lead role is aligned to Rolls-Royce Submarines Business, focused on novel nuclear concepts and product development.

What you will be doing:
As the Lead for Requirements Engineering and Management for Novel Nuclear programmes, your role will incorporate capability development and technical delivery accountabilities:
- Owning, evolving and embedding the Requirements Engineering and Management strategy across all projects in the Novel Nuclear business in collaboration with the business wide capability group.
- Developing and delivering Requirements Engineering and Management governance, methodologies, and training, ensuring they are integrated with wider processes and toolsets.
- Delivering technical coaching and oversight to engineers working with requirements to ensure consistency and quality.
- Identifying and incorporating industry best practice is into Novel-Nuclear projects.
- Contributing to overall strategic leadership of the Systems Engineering and Integration capability group.
Who we’re looking for:

- Experience as a Systems Requirements Engineer or Systems Engineer (Energy, Aerospace, Nuclear, Defence, Oil and Gas, Rail)
- Familiarity of ISO 15288 and its application to engineering complex problems.
- Have good working knowledge of utilising IBM Rational DOORs for requirements management.
- Have experience of leading strategic initiatives, or evidence of an aptitude towards strategic thinking.
- Degree Qualified or Apprentice Trained in a relevant engineering discipline, however this is not essential as experience is equally beneficial.

To work for Rolls-Royce Submarines you need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don’t currently already have this in place.
