The team operates in a multidisciplinary environment combining systems engineering, UI/UX, and software ergonomics to bridge human operators and complex systems. In this role, the jobholder will apply classical and cognitive ergonomics criteria—such as situational awareness, workload optimization, physical reachability, and environmental compatibility (NVIS, lighting, noise)—ensuring safety demonstration, qualification, and certification throughout the entire product lifecycle.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The jobholder will be responsible for:
- Design ergonomic operator workstations (cockpits, flight decks, mission consoles, and ground control stations), establishing geometry, physical layout, and furnishing.
- Develop HMI and multimodal interaction systems, including Graphical User Interfaces (GUI), display moding, control units, indicators, and advanced interaction methods.
- Lead comprehensive human performance analyses, conducting mission analysis, task analysis, ergonomic assessments, operator workload evaluations, and Human Error Analysis (HEA).
- Build and evaluate HW/SW prototypes, creating virtual simulations and physical mock-ups adapted to each phase of system development.
- Execute Human Factors Verification & Validation (V&V), organizing user-centered design reviews, system demonstrations, and usability testing campaigns.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and certification, delivering the human factors qualification, safety demonstration, and certification dossiers across the product lifecycle.
SKILLS:
Is your profile aligned to the following list of skills? Apply! We are looking forward to knowing you:
- Education: Aeronautical, Industrial, Systems, or Software Engineering degree, or a related discipline with specialized training in Ergonomics / Human Factors.
- Experience: Proven experience in Human Factors Engineering (HFE), User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) design, or Systems Engineering within aerospace, defence, or safety-critical industries.
- Soft skills: Strong analytical mindset, collaborative team spirit in multidisciplinary environments, and high adaptability to complex operational workflows.
- Languages: Advanced / Negotiation level in English.
- Technical knowledge: Deep understanding of classical and cognitive ergonomics criteria, HMI prototyping tools (virtual simulation & mock-ups), System Engineering processes, and safety demonstration/certification standards.
- Valuable / Nice to have: Familiarity with military cockpit standards, NVIS compatibility criteria, flight deck certification, or experience in flight test/mission console validation.
