An outstanding opportunity has arisen to join Rolls-Royce as an Electrical Design Engineer in Naval within our Defence business based in Bristol.
As Electrical Design Engineer, you will lead the Electrical design on Marine Gas Turbines across different applications. You will be responsible for developing the design of the electrical system from an architectural concept to physical design against customer requirements as well as industry and certification standards for release on Naval applications.
In this role, you will help us to continually improve our way of working as we strive to innovate using agile methodologies. Being a key member of the team, you will interface with Mechanical and Control system design teams, as well as Naval customers and ship/ propulsion system integrators.

Your needs are as unique as you are. Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home or another remote location. What you will be doing:
·Lead the design and development of the of Gas Turbine, ancillaries, and ship interface electrical systems.
·Integrate and manage electrical system and sub system requirements including their testability.
·Use suitable methods and industry standards while developing and working to appropriate design strategies.
·Develop new processes, architectures, and ways of working.
·Continuously improve on the cost and quality of our products.

·Proficient in electrical engineering including electrical design and development.
·Degree qualified (or equivalent experience) in a STEM related subject.
·Understanding of Electrical Protection Design and Coordination.
·Appreciation of electrical installation safety and maintainability.
·Knowledge in Controls and Instrumentation systems and architecture.
·NX CAD, AutoCAD or similar experience.
·Curious, self-motivated person, able to challenge when appropriate.
·Technical problem-solving abilities.
