Structural Engineer Intern reports directly to the Engineering Manager, to gain experience in planning, designing, and analyzing state-of-the-art equipment and components for aircraft cabin interiors. Our
Cabin Products Team is a world leader in designing, developing, and manufacturing cabin interior products and services that deliver innovation, reliability and efficiency. Our broad range of offerings include aircraft cabin seating, lighting and engineering solutions, oxygen systems, food and beverage preparation and storage equipment, galley systems, water and waste systems, and advanced lavatory systems. We also collaborate closely with our customers to provide customized cabin interior reconfiguration, program management and certification services.
What You Will Do:
- Resolve issues such as conflicting design requirements and material suitability to ensure successful project completion.
- Coordinate project activities across multiple engineering units to optimize team participation and project efficiency.
- Initiate and maintain comprehensive design data throughout all technical maturity phases.
- Be mentored in a team of engineers and technicians assigned to projects.
- Review project-related documentation for accuracy and compliance with requirements.
- Generate artifacts, reports, and participate in design reviews to provide objective evidence of compliance.
- Participate in professional organizations to stay updated on technical innovations and industry trends.
- Assist in defining project objectives and contribute to the development of robust project designs.
- Perform additional related duties as required to support project and organizational goals.

Qualifications You Must Have:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
- U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD) (Siemens NX) & Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Systems (Teamcenter)

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
