We have an opportunity for a talented Flight Operations Manager (FOM) to join our team in West Perth, WA. The FOM is responsible for the day-to-day management of all Business and Operations activities associated with Flight Operations and the Pilot group. The FOM will work with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure that all operations associated with the Pilot group will meet all legislative, regulatory and contract requirements while providing a service and support that is productive and efficient.

Key Responsibilities
- A visible safety champion who will challenge unsafe acts and pursue improvements in safety culture and behaviour
- Develop highly effective and productive relationships with the Pilot group, the Flight Operations team, key stakeholders whether they are internal (at a global, regional and in country level and particularly with the regional management team and employees) and externally (regulators, customers and suppliers)
- Act as “problem solver” with the commercial team, base management teams, Regional Operations Control Centre team and Contract Manager for any operational issues.
- Deliver effective cost control of the Pilot group through effective planning, scheduling, monitoring and administration in line with current and future requirements
- Manage pilot headcount in line with contractual requirements, including recruiting and onboarding.
- Participate and influence pilot EA negotiations, provide operational context and advice
- Interact frequently with the ROCC to ensure medium and long terms crew scheduling is in accordance with the goals of the region and aligned with client expectations
- Interact daily with the local short term planner(s) and travel staff to ensure all short and immediate term crew scheduling operates effectively and in line with regulatory compliance, customer conformance and cost minimisation
- Provide day-to-day direction to the pilot group in line with CHC polices & procedures
- Manage and monitor the remuneration changes for transfers, upgrades and departures.
- Respond and resolve conflicts and disciplinary issues on the base in accordance with the Terms and Conditions of their employment
Skills And Experience
Qualifications, Skills & Attributes
- Minimum of 5 years of experience within an Aviation environment, workforce planning or scheduling environment
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the aviation industry with operational experience to include flying, engineering or business operations required
- Robust relationship building skills with the ability to adapt to environments and people
- Verbal and written communication skills along with a sense of resilience
- Operationally focused with sufficient working knowledge of contract terms and conditions
- Ability to negotiate and influence effectively
