Job Description
The Role:
To manage Procurement activity for all direct and indirect products and services to HS Marston.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage team of buyers to ensure departmental objectives are met
- Provide training and coaching to team to ensure they can meet their potential
- Act as escalation path for problems and issues, providing clear communication to affected areas
- Develop and maintain departmental metrics to track performance
- Develop and track actions to ensure that performance continues to meet agreed targets
- Liaise with Commodity management, NPI/Transfer Manager and SIOP teams to ensure the Procurement team needs are considered and satisfied
- Allocate workloads amongst team to ensure that each individual can meet personal and departmental objectives
- Participate as a member of Supply Chain management in developing strategies and process improvement initiatives
Basic Qualifications:
- Understanding of Supply Chain processes with a high degree of commercial acumen.
- Ability to communicate effectively internally and externally.
- Action focused, driven to deliver concrete and sustainable results.
- Candidates must be able to demonstrate a track record of delivering KPI improvement in an aerospace environment, working either independently or as part of a multifunctional team
- Engineering knowledge/exposure is a plus
- Significant procurement experience in Aerospace / Automotive or Electrical industries
- IT skills – Comprehensive knowledge of Excel, Word and ERP systems (prior SAP use a distinct advantage)
- Ability to manage team to ensure departmental objectives are met
