Viva Aerobus is currently searching for Sustainability Risk and Strategy Manager based at CDMX or MTY.
This role is key to desing and set up Viva's sustainability-related governance structure, define rigorous ESG objectives, science-based and data-driven commitments and goals, set up the oversight mechanism for all ESG material topics, develop policies, procedures and accompany the implementation impactful projects with that purpose, and provide feedback to business initiatives with key stakeholders as necessary sustainability-related regulatory frameworks and best-in-class industry practices aligned with the Viva's business goals. Therefore, this person must develop strong internal relationships with all business leaders and staff to ensure alignment with the overall sustainability strategy.
His or her primary objectives include:
- Accelerate data-oriented decision making in the Sustainability team to set-up environmental and social goals and objectives.
- Innovation and Future-next Airline Sustainability practices.
- Sustainability Strategy.
- Sustainability Governance.
- Materiality and Sustainability-related risk and opportunities.
- Develop science-based, data-driven and rigorous ESG-related analysis to nurture the corporate sustainability-related materiality and the sustainability strategy.
- Develop and set up Viva's sustainability governance policies and procedures.
- Recommend actionable strategies for addressing current ESG-related issues across all Viva's functional areas and accompany them when necessary.
The Candidate:
Ideal Experience:
- 6+ years of experience in ESG/Sustainability, with 3+ years in management roles.
- Proven expertise in data analytics, programming, and data visualization (Python, SQL, MatLab). Certifications are a plus.
- Familiarity with International Sustainability Reporting Standards and financial management.
- Experience managing projects and diverse teams is essential.
- Knowledge in Sustainable Finance, ESG Taxonomies, and financial accounting standards is an advantage.
- Experience with ESG certifications and working with third-party assurance providers is desirable.

- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to influence and drive change across global teams.
- Analytical, detail-oriented problem solver with innovation and creativity in developing sustainability tools and methodologies.
- Able to balance multiple priorities in a dynamic environment and collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills in both English and Spanish, with proficiency in Excel and data management.
