ResponsibilitiesThe Human Resource Generalist will support the Sr. Human Resource Business partner assigned business(s) on ‘first level’ ER issues. They should be a proactive communicator and change agent who can successfully balance employee needs with business objectives to create integrated solutions. With directional support from HR leadership and HR Centers of Excellence, acting as a consultative business leader for company management to ensure effective alignment of HR support with strategic organizational objectives.
- Act as a consultative business partner by interpreting and implementing overall human resource objectives for a specific client group(s).
- Act as a resource and counsel for assigned client group(s) in all aspects of human resources (i.e., staffing, coaching, counseling, training, and development).
- Provide eyes and ears function for a specific client group(s) in order to identify and define potential team member problems and issues. Develop pro-active solutions on routine and non-standard issues that arise.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs, including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change when circumstances dictate (e.g., emergencies, changes in workload, rush jobs, or technical developments).
Qualifications- A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
- At least one year of human resource management experience is preferred.
- Experience in a labor-organized environment is preferred
- Broad knowledge of HR functions and processes, including Performance Management, Employee Relations, Talent Management, Communications, Workforce Planning, Succession Planning, Change Management, Recognition, Compensation, and Benefits.
- Must have depth in employee relations and performance management.
- Advanced knowledge of laws impacting HR processes and actions.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
- Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
