Role Summary
The Principal Global Sales Strategy is the sole subject matter expert in all Sales Strategy and Strategic Projects at Alaska Air Group (AAG). As an individual contributor, this role defines long-term strategy for the sales team by identifying areas of significant incremental revenue opportunity to move the business forward with innovative new ideas and processes. Through the development and ongoing support of our Agency and Leisure modeling, this role will focus on our discounting, cost-of-sale, point-of-sale commissions and incrementality analysis.
Key Duties

Act as the lead subject matter expert in sales strategy and strategic projects, partner with Alaska Air Group stakeholders across the globe to analyze needs and build robust data models and establish processes that support growing the portfolio.

Defines the overall Global Sales Strategy (12-month horizon) by analyzing Agency and Leisure discounting, cost-of-sale, point-of-sale commissions, and incrementality to create a framework and cohesive strategy that maximizes revenue, market share and overall Sales profitability.

Own the development of leadership presentation materials including Agency and Leisure strategies, NDC adoption strategies, project report outs and monthly Executive Leadership meetings focused on data analytics that lead to incremental revenue gains.

Works closely with our Distribution Strategy team to define the roadmap for NDC adoption and negotiate the commercial agreements related to this new technology for indirect agencies.

Manage Alaska for Business (EasyBiz) portal and program launch. Works closely with internal stakeholders to ensure we launch, maintain, and enhance a compelling and competitive SMB product.

Own and proactively seek out new and innovative strategic initiatives. Defines and measures complex KPI metrics and aligns goals to drive business process and sales revenue improvements focused on incrementality.

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills
Required
-
7 years of experience in data analytics, sales, distribution, finance, project management, or related areas.

Bachelor’s degree, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.

Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

Demonstrated data skills using SQL, Tableau, Alteryx and/or PowerBI.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Minimum age of 18.

Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred

Prior airline experience in Sales, Distribution or the commercial organization .

Advanced data modeling and forecasting skills.

Advanced ability with Excel and other database programs (SQL, Alteryx, Tableau).

Negotiation skills with third party vendors or travel agencies.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to drive outcomes in the best interest of the company and with others in the organization.

Ability to interact with business leaders, provide insights and recommendations, and collaborate to solve complex challenges.

Ability to manage through ambiguity, analyze and summarize complex data in a concise manner, and make meaningful business recommendations.

Salary Range
$106,800-$176,300 / year
Pay Details
GEO 1: $106,800.00 - $160,200.00
GEO 2: $117,500.00 - $176,300.00
Salary Details
Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees. Alaska/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.
Note: We don’t typically hire at the top of the range.
