Summary
The Fixed Assets Senior Accountant will have primary responsibility for ensuring proper accounting and recording of activity covering various areas and transactions (i.e. fixed assets, inventory, maintenance, deferred maintenance and insurance). They will maintain proper records and documentation for SOX compliance and provide timely reporting to various individuals inside and outside the department. They will assist in creating a positive team environment and ensure completion of day-to-day operations for the Corporate Accounting Department. This position requires the highest level of professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity from an individual who is responsible and dependable.

Combination of Education and Experience will be considered. Must be authorized to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986. Must pass a Criminal Background Check.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or other related field.
Years of Experience: Minimum two (2) years of professional experience in Accounting and/or Finance.
•General knowledge of accounting systems.
•Experience working in a SOX 404 compliant environment.
•Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
•Solid communication and critical thinking abilities.
•Attention to detail is essential.
•Team approach and a positive attitude.
Preferred Requirements
•Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
•Experience with SAP and/or Trax eMRO.
Job Duties
•Responsible for daily preparation and management of fixed assets and maintenance related accounting processes and records related to various areas and transactions.
•Ensure activity and transactions are properly and accurately recorded and maintained in the general ledger for closing process.
•Perform account reconciliations and ensure appropriate and accurate recording in the general ledger in certain areas.
•Prepare and maintain fixed assets and related accrual roll forwards and other reports related to accounts required for closing process review, company internal reporting package, and external reporting needs.
•Work closely with the Fleet, Materials, Maintenance, and IT teams to ensure proper understanding of transactions, status of projects in WIP, status of heavy maintenance activities, and upcoming initiatives.
•Assist in the monthly financial close process associated with Allegiant subsidiaries, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, preparing journal entries, account balance reconciliation, and report preparation as applicable.
•Participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures and operational strategies including internal controls and process and system changes.
•Research and resolve discrepancies.
•Work closely with others in all areas of the organization to ensure proper coding and communication.
•Prepare and post journal entries.
•Maintain proper records and documentation for Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance.
•Provide support and assistance to comply with internal and external audit requests.
•Provide oversight and supervision for daily posting of certain transactions and activities performed by designated accounting administrator and staff responsible for activities.
•Supervise accounting administrators and staff to ensure efficient and timely invoice processing, assist in relationship with vendors, and support the accounting administrators with system/automation issues.
•Ensure any direct reports understand and apply our Customer Commitment and customer service standards to their daily responsibilities as appropriate.
•Model Allegiant’s customer service standards in personal actions and when providing leadership direction.

May be required to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 20 lbs. May be required to work various shifts/days in a 24-hour situation. Regular attendance is a requirement of the role. Exposure to moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones, printers, and foot traffic), temperature and light fluctuations. Ability to work in a confined area as well as the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time. Some travel may be a requirement of the role.
