Communications Strategist (Communications Strategic Partner III/IV). This position, located in our Colorado Springs, Colorado, campus plays a vital role in developing and implementing communications strategies for our civil and national security space portfolios.
Work Model
This is a full-time position based in Colorado Springs, CO, offering a hybrid work model that combines 3+ regular onsite workdays and remote flexibility as the business needs allow.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Applies knowledge of strategy, content development, tactics, and measurement to develop and implement multifaceted strategic communications plans.
- Works with senior leaders to develop consistent messaging; maintains a detailed knowledge of relevant subject matter.
- Defines goals and objectives; tailors communications approaches to desired outcomes; determines measures of success; monitors and reports on results.
- Proactively advises senior leaders on appropriate tactics and backs up recommendations with data on state-of-the-art best practices; educates decision-makers on current industry research for external engagement and thought leadership.
- Leads teams to develop messaging plans, content and events for a variety of audiences and channels; works both hands-on and as a team coordinator.
- Develops and implements process improvements to accommodate an increasing volume of products and pace of development.
- Develops metrics and measurement tools to ensure that communications are reaching the intended audiences.
- Willingness and ability to travel and work a flexible schedule, to include occasional evenings and weekends on short notice.
- This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
What You Need To Be Successful
Minimum Requirements for the Communications Strategic Partner III:
- Bachelors degree in Communications or a related field
- Five or more years of experience in a corporate or government environment.
- Strong project management skills and outstanding oral and written communication skills.
- Experience and the application of concepts and practices in communications, public relations, marketing, and journalism as well as experience with a wide variety of channels (print, web, broadcast, social media, etc.)
- Experience with event management on various scales
In addition to the above, the minimum requirements for the Communications Strategic Partner IV include:
- Eight or more years of experience in a corporate or government environment.

We offer a competitive compensation package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business. The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
