Job Description:

The Senior Copywriter is part of our Brand Marketing Team and provides copywriting for marketing initiatives across multiple channels to develop high-impact creative for Southwest’s digital landscape. This role primarily supportscommunications for Getaways by Southwest including display banners, social posts, video and print assets, and more. This a collaborative role that partners with various teams to ensure the content aligns with Southwest's
brand and follows brand standards and guidelines. The Senior Copywriter is a strong communicator who is detail-oriented, creative, and excited to support impactful initiatives that drive the future of Southwest.

This role is a hybrid position based out of our Corporate Campus in Dallas, TX, which requires Employees to work at a Company facility at least three days a week. The Department designates the specific three days of the week Employees must work on-site.

Responsibilities
- Provide copywriting for Southwest channels that include but are not limited to, web content (mobile and desktop), email, digital display banners, social posts, video assets, print, OOH, jetbridge posters, in-airport signage, sports sponsorships creative, collateral and experiential assets.
- Understand and support the Brand Style Guidelines and Brand Voice Guidelines
- Collaborate with internal copywriters and designers to develop creative assets that adhere to our brand standards
- Attend creative huddles to present and evaluate creative work to ensure adherence to brand guidelines and follow channel best practices
- Review strategy and creative briefs to gain understanding of business objectives during project kick-offs
- Apply digital-first mindset and digital best practices in translating business needs and strategic initiatives into verbal and written communications
- Participate in creative brainstorming sessions
- Work closely with the business owners and project managers to coordinate, schedule, and provide content deliverables within set timelines and help manage bandwidth
- May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of multi-channel copywriting
- Knowledge of best practices for creative writing
- Skilled in creative copywriting
- Skilled in English language and grammar
- Skilled in Microsoft Word
- Skilled in understanding creative briefs and translating needs to verbal communications
- Skilled in presenting ideas and concepts
- Ability to collaborate with other designers and copywriters
- Ability to handle a high volume of work and prioritize effectively
- Ability to deliver quality work within a low-cost environment
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to be proactive and deliver innovative thinking
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
- Advanced level experience, seasoned and specialized knowledge in:
- Creative copywriting
- Advertising
- Producing integrated campaigns
- Preferred: Experience with UX Copy
- Preferred: Ability to showcase personal portfolio
- Preferred: Previous travel copywriting experience
Physical Abilities
- Ability to perform work duties from limited space work station/desk/office area for extended periods of time
- Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
- Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
Other Qualifications
- Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
Pay and Benefits:
Competitive market salary from $91,500.00 per year to $101,500.00 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
