We have an exciting opportunity for a Fluid Systems Test Development Engineer to join an expanding team of specialists. As the Fluid Systems Test Development Engineer you will be partnering with inhouse engineering and development teams along with external education, research bodies and industrial leaders in their field. This role also offers excellent ongoing training and development opportunities.

The Rolls-Royce Submarine’s Technical Development Department is a new team that has been formed to deliver a large body of experimental testing that the business is planning to do now and in the future. Your needs are as unique as you are. What you will be doing:
- Work in close collaboration with Discipline Development Leads, as well as rig operators and technicians in our on-site engineering laboratory to deliver a suite of experimental testing programmes.
- Be expected to take full ownership for long term roadmaps for all technology areas (includingPIV, thermal hydraulic, high fidelity measurement, acoustic, component, shock, EC&I, physics, materials and secondary propulsion testing) and for both new and existing test facilities, including their delivery.
- There may also be opportunities to engage with external organisations and in research projects at our University Technology Centres, particularly in relation to fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and novel experimental measurement techniques in the near-term, and potentially in other areas in the future.

- Fluid Systems or Thermal Hydraulics background and experience
- Experience of conducting experimental testing to support technical development or V&V, relevant to engineering.
- Understanding measurement techniques, methods and accuracies.
- Good IT skills, including experience of data processing and knowledge of python.
- Degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering or science-based subject

To work for the Rolls-Royce Submarines business an individual has to hold a Security Check clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you do not currently already have this in place.
