Technical Assistant (Engineering/Configuration) - Submarines

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technical Assistant to support our Configuration Engineers within the Service Data Centre / Availability Centre at Rolls-Royce Submarines in Derby. This role will offer a variety of technical, administrative, and organisational tasks within the team.
You will be managing and maintaining Rolls-Royce Submarine engineering configuration records using configuration software and through multi-site collaboration, assisting in the nuclear deterrent operating as efficiently, and safely as possible.

What you will be doing:
You will be working with a team of Configuration Engineers and Technical Administrators supporting a wide variety of tasks across the In-Service Configuration & Build Records team, with on-the-job training provided.
- Manage and maintain configuration records of all submarines currently in build or in-service.
- Management of life limited components fitted on submarines.
- Management of configuration information carried onboard submarines during the platform’s full life cycle.
- Support in the production of Configuration Control reports.
- Support in the delivery of technical queries from internal and external customers.
- Involvement with the reporting of monthly KPIs.

- Background or experience within an engineering/manufacturing environment.
- Experience of inputting and manipulating data in database systems (such as IBM Maximo and Cognos), or Microsoft Office based applications (e.g. Excel and Access, and Power BI), however, training can be provided.
- Good written and verbal communication skills at all levels.
- Familiarity working to deadlines and KPIs.
- GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent).

To work for the Rolls-Royce Submarines business an individual has to hold a Security Check clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you do not currently already have this in place.
