In this role, you will:
- Be a leader within the Waterfront PMO
- Focus on ensuring that the business has the right tools, processes and measures for consistent and controlled messaging, reporting, performance analysis, executive governance, and integrated project controls
- Manage a team of approximately 10 to 15 individuals responsible for Cost Control, Scope Control, Change Control, Risk Management, Earned Value, Project Communications and Project Controls Reporting functions
- Provide leadership for internal project controls and processes to ensure project and program delivery
- Lead a Project Control support team in the delivery of quality, transparent and timely outputs
- Ensure integrated business planning activities are developed and implemented to improve understanding of future business activity, influence decision making and future resource and capacity planning
- Provide governance over clear and concise project, program and business performance measures
- Lead business improvements in performance analysis and project control tools
- Support Project Delivery Teams in identifying and mitigating risks and issues with the use of project performance measures
- Develop reporting dashboards and monitor project and project performance against agreed performance measures
- Support review of proposals and RFPs (request for proposals) against operational and project requirements, controls and alignment
- Support Project Delivery Teams with identification and management of performance measures, performance trend analysis, interpretations and communication of performance.
- Work closely with the Financial Controls Team to enable accurate project forecasting
- Support project close out activities and reporting
- Identify and implement process and performance improvements
- Liaise directly with Business Improvement and Quality Management teams to ensure alignment of performance measures across the organization
- Support Project and Program Managers in execution of Project Control, reporting, communications as required
The ideal candidate brings:
- Has excellent written and oral communication skills
- Has the ability to provide clear and disseminated guidance on complex issues
- Has the aptitude to challenge current ways of working, and hold to account both internal and external stakeholders
- Has excellent interpersonal skills and ability to deal with a variety of people at all levels and skills in the organization, including president, directors, customer, and subcontractors
- Holds a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, Engineering, or related field
- Has 8 or more years relevant work experience
- Has 2 or more years’ experience in a leadership role
- Is a self-starter, flexible, and able to work under pressure
- Is eligible for a Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance
