Role Introduction
- To manage multiple HR projects and deliverables, ranging from setup of HR functions at various entities to improving operational excellence and employee experience in Chinese Mainland for the Cathay Group. This includes proactively partnering with stakeholders to ensure they have the necessary Human Resource guidance and support to drive the achievement of broader business and functional goals.
- The role holder should have therefore have a broad HR – Hire to Retire and employee experience knowledge and proven ability to lead change, work with a range of stakeholders across the business to influence and manage the numerous changes.
Key Responsibilities
HR Project Management
- Plan, direct, and co-ordinate projects to ensure that the project is delivered in line with corporate strategy
- Drive development of business case proposals and plans to determine time frame, funding requirements, procedures for accomplishing projects, negotiate manpower requirements to various project phases
- Identify, manage and report on project risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies, to ensure quality delivery, within prescribed timeframes and cost parameters
- Prepare project status reports and updates to stakeholders
- Actively track and follow up the progress of projects to ensure milestones are being achieved and major issues are being flagged to the relevant stakeholders in a timely manner
- Collaborate with cross-departmental stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals
- Be an advocate of change and act as a role model for change in driving business readiness in projects, including but not limited to challenging current processes and practices and encouraging new ways of working
- Lead projects in an agile way, with a willingness to take a pragmatic approach in balancing operations stability against project delivery, to drive win-win outcomes
- Proactively identify options to solve risks or issues, with associated pros and cons for stakeholder buy-in and decisions
Supplier Management
- Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work
- Ensure sub-contracting as per contract and engage the relevant parties when information or changes occur
- Actively manage supplier performance levels as per contract and service level agreements
- Set clear direction and expectations to suppliers as per corporate requirements
- Establish action plans and ensure the plan is being delivered in an efficient manner and keep track of all documentation
Cost Efficiency
- Manage project budget, resources and project-related costs with all key stakeholders
- Seek every opportunity to drive down costs by making them controllable
- Introduce lean projects and methodology as appropriate
Safety First, Quality Always
- Rigorously execute corporate safety, security and quality policies to ensure employees and suppliers who take part in the project are fully compliant with all regulatory requirements and quality standards
- Identify and mitigate personal, safety and security risks that might occur during the project in the workplace for employees and suppliers
E&A
- Emergency and Accident and Crisis Response responsibilities as required
Requirements
Academic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or in an equivalent discipline
- A degree in law is an advantage
Knowledge, Skills, Training And Experience
- 7 years’ of programme / project experience, including HR Operations & related technology experience in a complex matrix organisation
- Experience in managing projects with ability to multitask and manage multiple medium to large projects in a cross-functional environment
- Broad knowledge of HR business processes and working knowledge of enterprise establishment, mergers and acquisitions are advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of the following disciplines: Project Delivery Life Cycle, Change Management, Vendor Management, Service Transition and Cutover planning
- Experience on agile project delivery
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Effective use of negotiation skills
- Excellent influencing and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
