Role Introduction
To execute the commercial strategies for the port in order to surpass revenue targets and commercial Key Performance Indicators as well as to deliver service excellence, ensuring full compliance with company and regulatory requirements and safety and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue Generation
- Implement the Cargo Business Plan in full alignment with local cargo strategies and specified KPIs.
- Assist the Cargo Supervisor in reviewing revenue performance regularly and taking action when revenue is below budget.
- Actively manage capacity to maximize flight revenue.
Coordination with Operations
- Ensure accurate booking lists for the Cargo Terminal Operator are prepared in a timely manner to execute flight planning and pallet build-up plans.
Customer Services
- Answer customer inquiries and process bookings professionally and promptly.
- Maintain relationships with stakeholders from all sales channels for revenue generation.
- Provide superb sales and customer services to drive premium selling rates and regular business.
- Promote Cathay products and offer consistent product solutions to customers.
Efficiency Improvement
- Support programs to increase e-Bookings, e-AWB, e-freighter shipments, and other Agent Self-Service functions.
Financial Risk Management (if applicable)
- Manage credit risks according to internal guidelines and IATA local financial criteria.
Partnerships and External Liaisons
- Assist the Area Manager/Cargo Supervisor in managing relationships with shippers, key industry partners, and associations.
- Ensure recognition and loyalty from high-value customers, including Cargo Clan Elite members.
Service Delivery and Excellence
- Assist in implementing the Cargo Servicing Plan, including customer service supervision and performance reporting.
- Drive operational excellence with vendors by managing KPIs and service levels.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, corporate, and departmental policies and procedures.
- Perform regular quality checks, provide feedback, and resolve issues.
- Support the execution of cargo service delivery strategies from Head Office and Regional Management.
- Liaise with stakeholders to maintain proper communication and alignment.
- Ensure smooth cargo movements for new customers.
- Implement plans to optimize booking for space and weight utilization with agents, handling agents, and key customers.
- Develop local service standards to streamline cargo procedures.
- Liaise with airport authorities and government agencies as required.
- Participate in local Emergency and Accident activities as directed.
- Conduct regular meetings with vendors to review performance and update policies.
- Ensure communication of Cathay cargo notices to all employees and suppliers.
- Serve as the port designated trainer and recommend training programs.
- Manage Unit Load Device inventory to meet seasonal demand for both passenger and freighter services.
- Perform other reasonable tasks as requested.
Cross Functional Support (as requested)
- Perform duties of Cargo Services Officer (CSO) as required.
E&A
- Fulfill Emergency and Accident and Crisis Response responsibilities as required.
Requirements
Academic Qualifications
- College degree or equivalent
- A qualification in Cargo or logistics in an advantage
Knowledge, Skills, Training And Experience
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in cargo industry would be an added advantage
- Prior customer service experience with demonstrable customer service orientation
- Excellent communication skills
- Highly attentive to detail
- Working knowledge in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Good analytical, problem solving and planning skills
- Ability to work independently
- Knowledge of CHAMP CargoSpot systems is an advantage
- Adapts to change easily
- A valid Driver’s License and clearance to operate a company vehicle
