Overview
As Senior Manager of Strategy - Airports, you will develop and manage strategies to enable the Airports Business Unit (BU) to achieve its growth objectives.
SITA’s Airports Business Unit generates over $600 million in annual revenue. Reporting to the VP of Strategy for Airports BU, you will also act as an internal consultant to the broader Airports team—embedding strategic best practices into day-to-day operations and serving as a strategy partner to portfolio heads and product managers.

What You Will Do
- Facilitate the development of annual and 3-5 year strategies and support the transformation plans for the Airports BU, portfolios, and products.
- Work closely with portfolio heads and product managers to support the development of specific annual and 3-5 year strategy plans for their areas of responsibility, including channel and customer segment requirements.
- Communicate the Airports BU and portfolio strategies within the BU and across internal partner departments.
- Serve as the interface for portfolio strategy between portfolio teams and the wider SITA strategy organization.
- Ensure strategic imperatives for the Airports BU portfolio are reflected in relevant activities within the broader organization.
- Align the Airports strategy with other BUs and GEOs.
- Contribute to strategic planning and budgeting processes.
- In collaboration with the Market & Competitive Intelligence team:
- Monitor and understand the impact of trends (technology, business, industry, etc.) on the Airports BU and assigned portfolios and products.
- Track competitors and support portfolios in identifying and evaluating potential partners and acquisition targets.
- Challenge established ways of operating to drive transformative changes toward new revenue streams and business models.
- Manage assigned Airports BU strategy projects, including M&A initiatives.
Qualifications
Who You Are
- Serve as a strategy expert and consultant within the Airports BU, continuously enhancing the team’s ability to understand key strategy development processes and build the skills required to deliver relevant outputs.
- Lead and supervise virtual teams, as needed, from within the Airports BU and broader SITA organization to produce specific BU or portfolio strategy papers.
Education & Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a technical, business, or marketing discipline; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience, combining roles in management consulting or corporate functions in strategy and strategic planning.
- Solid understanding of technology trends and/or experience in commercial and business development.
Experience & Skills
- Air Transport Industry Experience: Experience within the Air Transport Industry is beneficial.
- Interpersonal and Leadership Skills: Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with demonstrated leadership experience.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and resourcefulness, with a deep understanding of corporate and functional strategies across departments (technology, commercial, finance, HR, etc.).
- Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills with an ability to distill complex messages for executives, foresee conflicts, and resolve issues.
- Strategic Mindset and Attention to Detail: High attention to detail coupled with big-picture strategic thinking. Acts as a strategic expert and consultant for the Airports BU.
- Workshop Facilitation and Thought Leadership: Ability to lead workshops, provide thought leadership, and present recommendations to the board level.
- Virtual Team Leadership: Experience in leading and influencing virtual teams within an international environment.
