Job Description:
The Public Safety and Private Communications (PSPC) sector of the L3Harris Communication Systems (CS) segment is seeking a Senior Manager of Program Management to join our team. The Senior Manager will lead the East region portfolio of programs, acting as Regional Director. This role is responsible for managing a Profit & Loss (P&L) center of up to $100M, annually and will partner with all cross functional organizations such as sales, finance, engineering and contracts to ensure successful contract execution and profitable P&L.
Essential Functions:
- Provide day to day status and interactions to Directors and executive leaders with all aspects of Revenue, Cash, issues, and status of business.
- Partner with the Sales Organization to build a pipeline of East coast Business in Land Mobile Radio (LMR) space
- Engagement with the East coast customers through delivery and close out. Providing regular progress updates, identifying risk in advance and addressing issues as they arise, leading to successful delivery on time, within budget and in line with the customers’ expectations. This will take the form of both face-to-face and virtual meetings and both verbal and written submissions.
- Manage the East Region for cost, schedule, and technical performance requirements through all phases of the program from inception to completion (e.g., contract negotiations, planning, scheduling, installation, commissioning, and system acceptance).
- Provide strategic direction, set priorities and resolve day-to-day issues to deliver to schedule and budget.
- Develop innovative solutions to resolve difficult program challenges.
- Instill process discipline and a culture of accountability focused on customer satisfaction and product quality.
- Lead a large team of matrixed Program Managers and Engineers.
- Approximately 20% travel required within the Eastern United States.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior related experience or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Engineering background in communications or IT systems
- Military or Public Safety experience
- Program Management Institute (PMI) PMP Certified
- Effective in presenting to executive level leaders
