Job Overview:
Drive commercial business development for forwarder handling, ACMI, and GSA:
- Execute hands-on commercial initiative to expand customer & service portfolio for air cargo services (particular focus: forwarder handling)
- Define business development roadmap and execute together with regional P&L owners & commercial teams
- Own & coordinate the commercial & operational workstreams involved in rolling out innovative new logistics products and services geographically
Own commercial delivery of Global Cargo strategy:
- Maintain network of commercial contacts with strategic cargo customers & industry partners
- Build & maintain sales leads into direct or indirect key cargo customers of Swissport
- Create & deliver sales pitches of new products to additional sets of clients
Requirements:
- Proven commercial track record in air cargo industry
- Preferred: Exposure to management of air cargo operations
- Experience with developing & quantitatively evaluating business cases
- Deep knowledge of both the aviation industry as well as logistics
- Preferred: Experience with customs processes and regulations
- Preferred: Experience in freight forwarding
- Clear sense of customer centricity & lean cost transformation
Qualifications:
- University Degree, MBA is considered a plus
- At least 5 years of professional experience in Business Development or / and strategy consultancy in an international environment
- Previous international M&A experience
- Project management skills with larger scale, international projects
- Sound financial knowledge
- Experience in a matrix organisation
- Experience in post-merger integration is a plus
- Experience / affinity to HR and / or Legal related M&A issues is a plus
- International exposure and “out of the box” thinking
- Personal drive and entrepreneurial spirit (“can do mentality”)
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously and think analytically
- Flexible, stress resistant and strong team player
- Proficiency in English, any other languages are a plus
- Willingness to travel (up to 30% at times)
