Three Communications interns will be hired to join our RTX Corporate team:
As a Communications intern, you’ll have the opportunity to gain hands-on, real-world experiences working for a global, Fortune 500 company. You will have the chance to contribute to the company’s continued success and shape the future of our RTX Communications function.
Interns are an integral part of the RTX Communications organization, which executes communications strategies for the corporation.
Three interns will be hired to support the following Centers of Expertise:
- Channels & Content establishes core processes, content strategy, platforms, tools and creative assets that enable the Communications function to successfully support the growth of RTX, its businesses and its customers.
- Employee Engagement leads the development and execution of executive, people leader and employee communications.
- Global Affairs & Public Relations drives RTX reputation-enhancing outcomes through Public Relations, Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental, Social and Governance strategies.
- Global Brand & Marketing leads tradeshows and customer engagements, marketing campaigns, brand strategy and identity, and advertising.
- Global Business Communications partners with business unit (Collins Aerospace, Pratt & Whitney and Raytheon) leadership to support business growth initiatives.
What You Will Do
- Work collaboratively with team members across the Communications function to create high-impact content that grabs attention and influence key audiences.
- Interpret complex terminology, policies and content into clear, accurate, and succinct messaging.
- Be assigned to one of the RTX Communications Centers of Expertise (listed above) and execute a range of tasks including:
- Conduct research and interviews with high-level individuals, aligning with internal customers to write articles or press releases in support of assigned communications priorities.
- Produce digital content and animations for use in internal and external/social communications channels.
- Look for innovative ways to tailor existing content to make it relevant and engaging for use on brand storytelling platforms.
- Work with agencies and vendors, and manage projects as assigned.
- Provide support for company events, meetings and sponsorships.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program at a university seeking a degree in Communications, Marketing, Business or related degree. Candidates must be entering their Sophomore or higher year by the start of summer 2025 and cannot graduate before August 2025. Please upload a copy of your academic transcripts with your application. Include your projected graduation date on your resume, and portfolio or writing samples.
- At least 1 year of experience using Microsoft Office tools.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position.
Qualifications We Prefer
- A minimum of 3.0 GPA.
- Knowledge of Adobe software such as Dreamweaver, Photoshop and Premier.
- Motivated, team-oriented, self-starters who meet deadlines, maintains steady performance under pressure and have the ability to multi-task.
- Can captivate the audience through effective communication and presentation skills.
- Uses strong analytical skills to optimize content and is comfortable working with quantitative and qualitative data.

Location: This internship can be hybrid or remote. Ideal candidates will live near a main RTX hub such as Arlington, VA; Farmington, CT; Charlotte, NC; McKinney, TX, or Tucson, AZ.
Please consider the following role type definitions as you apply for this role:
Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.
Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home).
The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
