Job Summary

The Senior Marketing Strategy Consultant invests in the future of Southwest’s People by leading the marketing strategy efforts for driving engagement, shopping, and bookings for our portfolio of products. This role willidentify, initiate, develop, and drive go-to-market strategic plans to address business needs and improve performance of their assigned functional area (Travel Products, Loyalty, Co-Brand & Payment, and Air Fare & Ancillaries).The Senior Marketing Strategy Consultant is strategic, data-driven, and excited to support impactful initiatives that help drive the future of Southwest Airlines.

This role is a hybrid position based out of our Corporate Campus in Dallas, TX, which requires Employees to work onsite on our Corporate Campus at least three days a week. The Department designates the specific three days of the week Employees must work on-site.

Responsibilities
- Develop, guide, and present strategic business and marketing direction for their assigned functional area (participates in pricing policies, sale plans, media plans, and advertising messaging, etc. to drive performance improvements)
- Facilitate and lead cross-functional and cross-departmental coordination to support and/or deliver functional area and other Marketing strategic initiatives, foster innovation, align routine activities, and drive joint solutions
- Consume and analyze operational performance, business process, Customer insights, and/or future needs to build strategies that clarify key challenges, diagnose root cause, and recognize performance improvement opportunities
- Serve as a trusted resource to assist Employees and other departments in understanding Marketing strategies, driving functional area initiatives, and designing methodology for project/initiative delivery
- Evaluate information gathered from multiple sources and reconcile conflicts to establish a comprehensive understanding while distinguishing user/Customer requests from the underlying true needs
- Identify evolving business needs, industry trends, and advancements in the field of Marketing; drive their team to adapt
- Collaborate well with others, build relationships with business owners, influence and take consultative approaches as appropriate, drive forward, and follow through against established timelines
- Identify solutions and positively impact the environment of their direct team and Marketing department and cross-functional Commercial team
- Work with leader to align on priorities, constructively address project work, and build personal development plans
- May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of Marketing campaign development and go to market strategy
- Strong knowledge of 360-degree marketing planning inclusive of creative design and channels (paid, owned, earned)
- Strong knowledge of Marketing business metrics (i.e., conversion rate, engagement rate, etc.)
- Skilled in developing marketing briefs with minimum supervision
- Skilled in creating and presenting business cases and performance reporting with minimum supervision
- Skilled in problem solving and creating actionable insights from data
- Skilled in bringing others together and trying to reconcile differences
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other departments to influence business decisions
- Ability to demonstrate high emotional intelligence in various situations dealing with both Customers and fellow Employees
- Ability to proactively monitor future Marketing trends
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
- Expert level experience, expansive and far-reaching knowledge in:
- Marketing
- Campaign development
- Strategic planning
- Leading cross-functional projects
Physical Abilities
- Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
- Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
- Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
Other Qualifications
- Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
Pay & Benefits: Competitive market salary from $125,000.00 per year to $138,500.00 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
