Role Introduction
Reports To: Crew Scheduling Executive
To design CX flight crew and CX Cabin crew pairings by meeting different companies' legal requirements, policies, and industrial agreements and meet the business objectives and cost criteria.
To lead, supervise, coordinate and to monitor the flight crew and cabin crew training rosters and line rosters in a holistic approach.
To develop and to monitor the crew pairings and rosters efficiency and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring optimized flight crew and cabin crew pairings are generated in accordance with legal, industrial, Company and training requirements and all flights included in the pairings are provided with appropriate crew coverage and within available crew resources.
- Obtaining finalized flight schedule from Planning and manpower plan from Crew Planning team to ensure all flight crew and cabin crew pairings are generated before roster production cycle starts.
- Maintaining close liaison with Planning and Crew Planning, and act as the focal contact between Planning and Global Business Services during roster production cycle for operating plan changes.
- Consolidating hotel requirement forecasts for contract negotiations.
- Leading and supervising the teams in the roster construction process for pilots and cabin crew of the Cathay Pacific.
- Projecting detailed training lines for schedule month and schedule plus one month roster and regular updates on training requirements.
- Coordinating with Assistant Manager Training Planning for long term Cockpit Crew training requirements.
- Based on the training plans and the actual training events to coordinate the building of training lines and crew rosters.
- Coordinating with Crew Operations for roster changes affecting flight crew and cabin crew training.
- Working closely with Flying Training Managers and other offices for training supports.
- Coordinating with Simulator Training Manager for the construction of the monthly simulator instructor roster.
- Liaising with CAD inspectors and to construct their flying rosters.
- Conducting performance measurements on flight crew and cabin crew rosters and other related issues and to make recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Ensuring all checklists, reports and system are checked properly such that the monthly roster is published in compliance with the legal and Company requirements.
- Developing teamwork among staff and providing coaching to Crew Scheduling Officers.
- Maintaining technical knowledge required.
- Attending regular meetings with Crew Planning, Crew Operations, and other related parties.
- Specific duties and responsibilities as delegated by the Crew Scheduling Manager.
- Reviewing and discussing the feedback received with team members for continuous improvement.
- Monitoring the performance of team members.
Requirements
Knowledge
- Tertiary education.
- Knowledge of flight crew and cabin crew roster handling is an advantage.
- Knowledge of AFTLs, Conditions of Service, Rostering Guidelines and crew training requirement is a pre-requisite.
Skills
- Good ability in people management and communication skills.
- Good command of both spoken and written English.
- Good at Excel and Word or equivalent.
- Able to work independently and decisively under pressure and within a team.
- Good planning and organisation skills.
- Strong analytical aptitude and, preferably, a background in optimization activities.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in crew management environment, or equivalent.
