The key objectives of Technical Operations are safety, reliable flight operations and cost-efficient maintenance processes. Engineering is a department within the Technical Operations mainly responsible for the continuing airworthiness management, engineering support and technical lifecycle management of the Finnair fleet. We are now looking for an ENGINEER, STRUCTURES to be responsible for independently completing assigned duties in Engineering, resolving problem cases, monitoring manufacturer/community information to improve aircraft reliability and monitoring airworthiness data to keep aircraft in compliance with the requirements. The responsibility area in this role is aircraft structures and structural components. Main responsibilities: Executes Finnair fleet airworthiness and configuration management processes Ensures that structural work and repairs are carried out according to the agreed standard Ensures that maintenance documentation produced by external maintenance provider is high quality and consistent Monitors the reliability of the structural area and supports the Systems & Reliability Engineering Lead in compiling reliability data Analyzes incoming AD/SB/SIL/TFU/VSB/FAIR/Q-Pulse/elog/AMOS information for the area of responsibility Performs Cost-Benefit-Analysis (Business Cases) of Service Bulletins and make implementation recommendations Monitors Fleet/System reliability and determines actions based on long term aircraft diagnostics Responsible for Maintenance task & modification instructions on the area of responsibility (aircraft structures and structural components) Proposes and creates maintenance requirements in AMOS Coordinates modification process with Line maintenance & MRO providers Hosts vendor / working party meetings and ensures that the project plans are properly managed and communicated Supports preventive maintenance actions based on continuous follow-up of aircraft diagnostics and create guidelines for defect rectification and systems improvement Resolves production Technical Assistance (TA) requests Responsible for vendor management from a technical point of view in specified areas of ATA-systems Formulates, submits, and manages closing of service requests to OEM and vendors to resolve problems where no approved data exists Completes analysis of ASRs and determines root cause and preventive actions Analyses VSB and requests pool standard enhancements in liaison with component repair service providers Our expectations: Minimum of 6 months of experience in relevant technical / industry background Knowledge of Part-CAMO, Part-M, and Part-145 regulations Profound knowledge of aircraft maintenance philosophy, principles, and technical skills on the area of technical expertise including understanding of the continuous airworthiness requirements Engineering insight and judgement to facilitate making rational engineering decisions Good command of English for the purpose of spoken communication with vendors/OEMs/other airlines and writing formal and accurate service requests to OEMs Good technical skills and for the purpose of writing maintenance instructions based on approved data Able to take the ownership of the area of responsibility Understanding of business side when discussing contracts with OEM and MRO together with Finnair procurement Applicable technical education at B.Sc. or M.Sc. level Working at Finnair: We offer you an exciting opportunity to work in the fast-changing aviation and international travel industry in a culture that drives and enables professional development and continuous improvement.
