Job Description Summary Manufacturing technology is at the core of GE Aerospace’s competitive advantage. The Manufacturing Engineering Development Program (MEDP) is a 2-year program that provides you with a structure to build technical depth in those technologies through extensive hands-on experience, targeted training, leadership development, and mentorship.
Engineers in the MEDP will work manufacturing engineering assignments focused on technologies including Additive Manufacturing, Assembly & Test, Composites Manufacturing, Automation & Robotics, Machining and more. You’ll complete two 12-month rotations to build your expertise with the opportunity to rotate within sites supporting your technical focus or build depth at a single location.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide daily hands-on support to shop floor personnel to help facilitate problem-solving and process improvements related to production or development labs.
- Apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing skills and interpret blueprints to facilitate component manufacturing processes.
- Utilize various design and analytical software to support and improve manufacturing processes.
- Advance and develop manufacturing planning, processes and work instructions.
- Work with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements to improve product quality, increase throughput, and reduce manufacturing costs.
- Collect and analyze data from manufacturing processes to drive short- and long-term actions that support production.
- Apply Lean and Six Sigma tools to identify waste and support decision-making processes.
- Manage project plans related to manufacturing changes and collaborate with various functions to drive action and project closure.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Any Bachelor of Engineering from an accredited college or university.
