SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Director of Public Affairs reports to the Airbus Chief Representative and will lead the strategic development and execution of initiatives that enhance the organization’s relationships with key stakeholders, including government entities, business associations, and embassies. This role is pivotal in shaping public policy engagement, advancing sustainability efforts, and overseeing external and internal communications to bolster the organization’s reputation and influence.
Duties & Responsibilities
Strategic Stakeholder Engagement
- Leadership in Business Associations: Direct efforts in managing memberships and orchestrating participation in key events to strengthen the organization's presence.
- Government Relations Strategy: Develop and implement strategies for engagement with government entities, and oversee the preparation of official correspondence and policy advocacy.
- Embassy and Diplomatic Relations: Cultivate and manage relationships with embassies, coordinating participation in events and leading special projects that align with organizational goals.
- Airline and Private Sector Partnerships: Drive initiatives to strengthen relationships with airlines and the private sector, particularly during new account introductions and team transitions.
Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) Development
- Stakeholder Mapping and Relationship Building: Lead efforts to identify and engage local stakeholders, connecting sustainability initiatives with key partners.
- Meeting Facilitation and Insight Sharing: Organize and facilitate high-level meetings, ensuring research and insights are shared effectively across teams.
- Policy Development Monitoring: Keep abreast of local SAF developments and policies, providing strategic recommendations based on evolving landscapes.
External Communication Oversight
- Public Relations Leadership: Oversee collaboration with the regional communication team to enhance local visibility and manage public relations strategies.
- Press Release and Media Management: Review and approve Thai press releases, ensuring accuracy in translations and overseeing press conference logistics.
- Social Media Strategy: Direct the management of ACR’s LinkedIn presence, crafting strategic content and coordinating with regional teams for alignment.
Internal Communication and Reporting
- Newsletter and Internal Communications Management: Lead the development of the local monthly newsletter, ensuring comprehensive coverage of relevant topics and internal updates.
- Research and Reporting: Oversee the research and preparation of country materials, including economic updates, country briefs, and presentations.
- Meeting Documentation and Coordination: Organize and manage documentation for key internal meetings, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
Event Management and Protocol
- Exhibition and Event Leadership: Direct the planning and execution of the Defence & Security Exhibition every two years, and manage the organization of booths at various events.
- Special Event Coordination: Lead the arrangement of significant events such as signing ceremonies and leadership meetings, managing all logistical aspects and stakeholder participation.
Administrative Oversight for Airbus Chief Representative
- Vendor Management and Procurement: Supervise procurement processes, ensuring compliance and efficiency in vendor coordination and payment follow-ups.
- Gifts and Hospitality Management: Oversee the management of gifts and hospitality records for ACR, ensuring adherence to organizational policies.
CORE JOB Requirement
- Master’s degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Communications, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years in governance, public affairs, or a related field, with substantial experience in stakeholder engagement, policy advocacy, and strategic communications.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills both English and Thai for written and verbal.
- Proven ability to develop and execute strategic initiatives.
- Strong organizational and project management capabilities.
- Proficiency in Thai and English, and other European language (like French, German, Spanish) is preferred
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with diverse internal & external stakeholders at all levels.
