Job Summary
This position is responsible for maintaining software/configuration of the Porter fleet of Embraer E195-E2 and D8 400 aircraft and to ensure that data is fed to the relevant OEMs or third party monitoring companies. They will also work with other Engineering disciplines on fleet reliability, safety and configuration projects.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure a continuous flow of data to EHM programs is maintained
- Review changes to Embraer/DeHavilland documents and update Porter policies/procedures as required
- Oversee, in conjunction with Porter IT, security configuration of maintenance laptops and other components supporting the e-Enabled aircraft fleet
- Maintain configuration/currency of aircraft software
- Monitor and control Embraer/DeHavilland/Honeywell Software Distribution
- Interact with Porter IT, DeHavilland and Embraer IT regarding network integrity and functionality
- Manage changes to the aircraft onboard entertainment system
- Provide troubleshooting instructions to line technicians
- Interact with Porter planning/maintenance control/vendor regarding changes to aircraft software
- Identify and report Porter and vendor issues and risks and submit through Porter’s SMS.
- Assist other Porter Tech Ops engineering initiatives in other disciplines (i.e. Avionics, Hydro Mechanical Systems)
- Utilization of the Safety Management System [SMS] reporting program and adherence to the Safety Policy.
- Participate in maintenance status and planning meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
- Post-secondary education from an institution reconized in Canada required
- Graduates from an engineering discipline from a recognized university or those certified or eligible for certification by a Provincial Association as a professional engineer in Canada will be given priority.
- Minimum 5 years of technical operations / engineering experience, including experience at an Airline.
- DHC-8-Q400 and / or Embraer E1 / E2 experience considered an asset
- Valid passport and ability to travel
- Well organized, detail oriented and able to work autonomously
- Proven self-starter with good time management skills and able to multi-task
- Able to obtain airside security clearance
- No criminal record as per TC CARs
- Valid G driver’s license
- Knowledge of AMOS an asset
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel an asset
