Materials Engineer – Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMC)

As the Materials Engineer – Ceramic Matrix Composites, you will provide knowledge and expertise and execute tasks on the development of materials, processes, models, and analysis methods. You will also execute the tasks of application of materials to the design, test, manufacture, and service operation of systems, the approval, validation, and control of raw materials and/or component manufacturing processes, and the execution of failure or defect investigations. As the Materials Engineer, you will also provide knowledge, expertise, and guidance in chemistry and/or corrosion disciplines deployed in the support of the full product life cycle.
Key Accountabilities:
- Resolve problems through evaluative judgements
- Analyze data from multiple sources, interpret results, and identify effective solutions by applying their own technical knowledge, expertise, and engineering judgement
- Responsible for defined technical packages of work providing leadership and delivery against program milestones within agreed costs, timescales, and quality requirements
- Point of contact within Materials Engineering. Will share subject matter knowledge across the function. This may include providing advisory services to designated customers, influencing their peer group, representing senior departmental staff, and acting as advisor/coach on matters in their expertise
- Understand company business objectives and ensure that the work done supports this; to act in accordance with both the company values and those associated with being a professional engineer
- Actively promote, encourage, and support the identification and implementation of continuous improvement both within and outside immediate sphere and prompt action across the wider team
Basic Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree with 4+ years of Technical experience relevant to the Engineering discipline, OR
- Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of Technical experience relevant to the Engineering discipline, OR
- Master's, JD, or PhD in relevant Engineering discipline
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to apply logical, analytical and innovative thinking to a range of technical problems
- Knowledge and experience of product integrity/liability and certification frameworks
- Membership in a relevant professional body appropriate to the region
- Experience working in petrochemical arena or experience with ceramic matrix composites
