Nature of Work
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing and improving manufacturing processes. The engineer will work within the Operations team and be collaborating with Quality and engineering. This team's responsibility is to ensure a safe manufacturing solution is delivered which meets and exceeds cost, quality, and schedule requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Develops and Documents manufacturing processes that are aligned to engineering data
- Validate manufacturing BOM and Routings for various seat part manufacturing.
- Analyses engineering drawings and Models for production.
- Assist with tool design and tool procurement for operations.
- Review engineering changes as required for manufacturing.
- Supports continuous improvement within the department.
- Plans sequence of operations and specification procedures for all functions that affect product performance.
- Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control and may develop those techniques.
- Provides guidance for engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths
- in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing principles and methods
- Good understanding of machining processes, tooling and measuring equipment
- Strong attention to detail and confident with producing accurate data.
- Ability to read and understand complex engineering drawings and data.
- Strong EH&S awareness in a manufacturing environment
- Good communication skills Verbally and written)
Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Prior engineering experience within a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and Problem-Solving Methodologies preferred.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft office software
- Experience of lean manufacturing techniques
- Experience in completing projects for process improvement.
LOCAL INFORMATION
- This role reports to – Manufacturing & Production Engineering Manager
- Travel requirement – 10%
- Hours of Work – Flexible hours – 39 hours per week
